I was 15, I was raped, I was beaten, I was drugged, you name it, and the chances are, my pregnancy included it! But I still had my son, so you maybe should stop and think about trying to convince me about my opinion because it will not change, ever. I am sorry about my tact, but this is something that hits close to home for me, and if I can have my son through everything I was put through by someone who was 10 years older than me, then I dont think anyone can use that as an excuse for having an abortion. At least no a very good one in my books. I quit school, I got a job, I raised my son on my own. His "father" not one time in almost 8 years has helped me out. I have done this all on my own, with no help, so please dont pull that card again. Its not the childs fault that the mother isnt strong enough to deal with the curve ball that life threw her...
I love my son, and I will love him forever, he is Gods gift to me, and that child has changed my life in ways you will never know or understand. I am a much stronger person having him where I would be a depressed mess without him! Abortion is not a good thing. If the mothers life is in jeopardy, considdering it is an option, but my sister just delivered her daughter a month early despite the dr telling her it would kill her and the baby if they didnt terminate at three months. She made it to 8 and a half months before her blood pressure probs caused pre term labor, but she was willing to give her life for her child, especially after four miscarrages... There are many excuses for an abortion, and there are very few good reasons for one. God creates life, and God should be the one to decidewhen to take life away!!
unselfish attitude and a trophy to show for it ! I wonder how many women have thrown away opportunities like this .....God bless you Cassie, we are all talking from all sorts of experience and observations so no reservations whatsoever....

If there is a good reason for having the abortion such as the mothers health or the babys health, then in that case I would considder it mercy, not murder. I am not against abortion, nor am I judging anyone. I dont however think that a person who has an abortion just because they either dont want a kid or dont want to be pregnant is being merciful, but just cruel. I know that there are some reasons in which an abortion is necessary, and in those situations, I am sure the dr is probably more sympathetic, and they probably do a lot of things differently.
And I know what situations I have been in, and they werent any kind of prime conditons, I can assure you that, despite everything that happened to me, I had my son, and have single handedly raised him.
I know people have good reasons for having abortions, and like I said I am for the right for them to have the choice to do so. But I am not going to change my mind, nor am I going to regret what I stated previously. I will appologise AGAIN that I offended you and anyone else who may be offended, but still I have gotten a couple of responces into my mail that said a thank you for stating what really happens. So no I will not appologise for putting information on a thread about that subject that others may not know. It is a discussion, and my points fall under this discussion. And as I already said, if this helps anyone to not have an abortion- barring anything going wrong with the pregnancy, baby or mother, then I am still glad to have posted it...

Once again, sorry to you that it offended you, but I did write that the info was graphic... and yes if it an abortion just because someone doesnt want to have their baby, I do considder it murder, thats my opinion, and I am entitled to it!
Casie you are entitled to your opinion, nobody is arguing against that, but you must realise that, despite your health warning, the graphic nature of your post earlier was totally unnecessary.

Don't you think most of us women know what abortion procedures entail? Don't you think that knowing this makes the decision to have an abortion much more harrowing for women who find themselves in this position?

You don't need to fight your corner on issues such as these with this kind of information. Others could describe equally graphic and horrific accounts of self-performed or back street abortions but they choose not to. In any case you have lost your argument by using the procedures as a deterrent because despite the horror you described you advocate abortion in specific cases.

dunno

I don't know of too many procedures that aren't explained by a doctor. I don't know why this shouldn't be, other than it might discourage the procedure.

Facts can be ugly dunno

No to abortion! It can be made legal, it can be made popular, it can be rationalized. But it will always be the death of an innoncent life.

If you call a sheep's tail a leg, it will still have only four legs.

One of the main flaws of mankind is to make a bad thing into a good thing in their mind to satisfy what they would like to do. Do what you will and rationalize it.....but the penalties will always be the same.

Now who wants to rationalize killing retarded folks because they are too much trouble just like babies...........Stupid!

Thank you so much! I am really a bit upset after this one, I didnt intend on airing out my closet like that!! Was something I have not discussed in 8 yrs, but the more argument and judgement I was getting over what I had written, the more defensive and upset I was getting. I finally just let it all out, kinda wish I hadnt though, but I couldnt hear any more of that type of excuses.

You know if there is a real reason for needing an abortion, one that is really life or death, then I am not going to say that the persons involved are in any way doing a horrible thing. I just dont think its right for someone to have an abortion when they and the child can get through the pregnancy healthy. Then if the mother still doesnt want the baby, there are lots of people who would love to adopt a newborn baby!! I went through that with my sister and brother in law when they couldnt have one for 6 years.

Sorry everyone if I offended it is just a subject that is a bit too close for comfort for me...

I disagree Jan...being a teacher, you should not be against educating the public. I had no idea what actually goes on in the abortionists office. I think alot of men do not know.

Probably alot of women do not know either. I would think more information would be welcomed for a woman to make the best and most informed decision she can make. It is her body and it is her child that is affected.

I applaud Casie's description. She did give ample warnings and offered apologies if it offended anyone. I learned something very valuable tonight and I appreciate her courage to post it.

I dont advocate them, I would never have one, no matter what. I just dont think that a person who has had one or who is going to have one should have to feel as bad about it, because chances are, if they are having one because of medical reasons, then they dont want to have it. And I know the stress it put on my sister to be put into that situation. I am just saying that I wouldnt say anything in that kind of a situation, but as my sister proved, not all of those cases would really turn out life threatening either. Still, I feel really sorry for anyone put into that kind of situation...

By the way there are groups of people that want to kill you for being American, Christian,....etc. How do you feel about that. I'm sure they have real good reasons from experts too.

Thanks so much, I am so glad everyone doesnt hate me now!! I wasnt sure if I should post what I did, and especially after some of the responces I have gotten, but all in all, I think more people are not mad because I wrote what I did. I think people should be informed on this, and I for one didnt know what actually happoned until I was in their office... Wish I had someone tell me all this before I went in, could have saved me a trip!
Thanks again!!

I know many women who have had up to 10 abortions, could that ever be justified ?...the fact that it is readily available makes it look like going to the shops but I am sure casie's graphics will discourage a lot of people as it has made me the more against it, I never knew these innocents were savagely murdered.

Of course I'm not against educating the public, I simply wasn't aware that there was such a lack of knowledge about this.

Having said that, I still don't believe it was necessary to use this information in the way it was. If you read literature by pro-life organisations you will learn exactly the same thing but accompanied by graphic photos. The intention of course is to deter women from choosing to have an abortion.

Casie had a sad story to tell (behind the graphic descriptions she chose to add) and I applaud her courage for that.

Jan, I'm no pro-life fanatic, but I do appreciate knowing the full extent that certain procedures and acts affect the various parties involved.

Also, this is a public forum. Her post was as legitimate as any other.

Personal squeamishness shouldn't negate this fact.

Did I enjoy reading it? Nope.

But it WAS pertinent to this discussion in my opinion.wine
