Jan, I'm no pro-life fanatic, but I do appreciate knowing the full extent that certain procedures and acts affect the various parties involved.

Also, this is a public forum. Her post was as legitimate as any other.

Personal squeamishness shouldn't negate this fact.

Did I enjoy reading it? Nope.

But it WAS pertinent to this discussion in my opinion.
I was just as appauled as everyone else when I learned about it, and still am. I am sorry that it is so graphic, ut I am not the one who made it that way...

Thank you for not being mad at me, I am sure lots of people will be.

Thanks to all who are not taking what I wrote personally, I really wasnt trying to judge anyone, nor was I trying to get on anyones bad side!!

Noone hates you Casie...it takes alot of courage to post what you did. It took more courage to have your son under the circumstances described by you here tonight. Everyone should applaud you whatever their opinion on the subject is. Your story was very moving...thank you for sharing.

Thank you for listening!!hug

stop apologising Casie, those stories needed to be told and i am sure you don't know how many lives you just touched, a lady who's been following this discussion just told me her sister can't have anychildren 'cos of complications arising from an abortion gone bad,.....she regrets her action and wished she had been properly informed before she went ahead with it. No kids, for life,.... from being selfish,....no offense please.

In the end, no matter which side you fall on, no one is going to be convinced at our ages to change their views. It is what it is....

Casie you don't have to keep defending yourself and despite what others have apparently misinterpreted in my posts, I don't have a problem with you or anybody writing what they damn well please. I was just stating my opinion which was that I thought it was unnecessary sensationalism, something I dislike in any shape or form.

I certainly haven't taken anything personally, I have never been in the position where I've had to make that difficult choice so why would I?

Thank you as well! And bring on the other issues! I am tired of talking about myself now!! :( Its frusterating, and makes me defensive!! I hate feeling like this, it takes me back 8 years!! To a time I thought I would never have to deal with again...
Unfortunately, you have been through a horrible time, a time most can even begin to imagine but you came through it pretty good and with a pretty good view of life.

As per your request, I will touch on one of the most obvious issues and that is what went on before the current abortion laws/policies were in place in the U.S. I have seen the horrible results of self administered or unprofessionally administered abortions vs what is done today in a proper medical environment. I believe if we lose this ability to choose we will go right back to that and to me it's much worse losing two lives.

If this were a perfect world we wouldn't have this problem but it's not and this, to me is by far the best way we have to deal with it.

Thank you for saying that, I really didnt mean to offend anyone, but it was something I didnt know happened, and I felt that a lot of people probably didnt know. The subject was brought up, and it is a discussion, so I figured I would put my past experiences down for others to learn from.

I am not mad at you or anyone else on here. Everyone has an opinion, it might not be the same as mine, but I am certainly not going to judge them because of it. To each his own!!

This is true, and I wouldnt want to lose two people either, thus I am not completely against abortion, I just wish that people would reconsidder what they are thinking before hand so they dont have to suffer the rest of their lives wondering what could have been. That child could have been the one to save the planet, but who will ever know?
No I wouldnt want to go back to the barbaric ways of the past, and its a womans right to chose, but please people think long and hard before you make any hasty decisions!! ( Though I am not sure if anyone reading these threads will ever be in this position, still you may know someone who is thinking of these things and maybe you could share with them that it doesnt have to be delt with in that way, minnus the graphic details causing all the controversy!!)

There's is secondary gain from organization or cause. Usually it's to keep that cause or organization alive. (how ironic)

(just a passing observation)

If I were to stop a person from saving a Child in a dangerous situation and the Child died as a result of my actions, I would be called an accessory to murder if not implicated in the Child's death and charged with such.

A developing Child in the womb has many stages to go through before it gains recognition in many peoples eyes. A Gamete, a Zygote, a Foetus and most undignified in my humble opinion, a bunch of cells.

We, as we sit here and type our replies have gone through many stages to get here: a Baby, a Toddler, a Teen and an Adult.

Personally I have the utmost admiration for women who have chosen to keep their Babies as a result of rape. It can only be described as the most heinous crime against humanity, both for the person who has experienced it and for the Child who may someday learn the details of their conception from whatever source.

A created life (be it Hedgehog or Human) from the moment of conception is fully programmed to get on with it's development, uninterrupted!

I do recognize the pain that is felt by women, in the decision to have an Abortion, the knowledge that some may have of the very process in the procedure, and also of the after effects. A woman should have access to support in dealing with her decision and it's after-affects.

The most heart-breaking affect I have seen in relation to Abortion was a person supporting a relative that had decided to go through with the procedure, literally collapse in my arms and grieve for the Niece/Nephew that had been denied life. The support was still there but when you drop a pebble into a pool you cannot deny there is the ripple.

I'm against abortion except in few circumstances.

1. Life threatening risk
2. Rape (I feel that should be the mother's choice then)
