Great conversation question! I not would wait but, I normally am the kind that will wait because, first of all; because I don't like to just jump into bed with anyone, secondly, I do want to see who and what this other person is made up of before I get in too deep(pardon the pun!). Besides, if you meet someone and just jump right into the sex, it takes away the time necessary to build intimacy and trust. Not to mention friendship. Unless, of course you are just in it for the sex and fun for a short time. If that is the case then I feel you should make your intensions known upfront and, not after you have already gotten what you wanted. It all goes back to respect, not just for the other person but, also for yourself.

If you found someone you really cared about and they told you they would like to wait a year or more before they have sex with you (because they really need to get to know who you are first or for whatever other reason) would you be in a relationship with them?
I think its nice to wait, but 1 year seems a bit long!!.. I would be climbing the walls laugh :rolls:

No way. But I like the fact that so many women here said otherwise. It restores my nearly ruined faith in humanity that so many of you are better than I. applause confused uh oh!

I could wait with no problem at all. In fact, if need be, I could wait until we married (if that were in the cards).
But as we grew closer to one another, I would probably want some physical affection, beit hugs, kisses, pats, snuggles, etc...
I wouldn't want to spend an entire year feeling like he loves me for my mind and personality but it repulsed by my body to the point of no cuddles.

Cuddles are a good thing. applause

sometimes it takes that long to truly know someone, to really love them
I think 12 months is a bit over the top and making love to someone is part of getting to know them.

It's not that I couldn't, I've gone longer than that without sex and didn't even miss it.

I wouldn't go without a year though with someone I cared about. It doesn't take that long to decide if I cared enough about them enough to want to know them better, and sex is part of getting to know someone. Attraction and desire is part of having a relationship, for me anyway, and going around with that part unsatisfied I'm not going to be able to get to know anyone very well, my brain doesn't work really well when I'm horny! devil grin

So true Cups
...to a degree I agree
It would mean we are mere friends
...as not even a kiss then could be shred
the passion would be as intense as the act of.

Aside from the fact it would make me wonder what was "really" on his mind to propose such a question.
...sure am open to one finding them self and or ...but please, waiting a year to be intimate....it better be a medical condition...laugh
