Totally personally....

Getting physical messes with my emotions BADLY.
It's unbelievably great when it's great but separation tends to freak me (even when I agree with it, and I always do - both times).
I realise about myself that I cannot afford to go through life in a series of emotional tatters.
And I don't particularly enjoy beating guys off with sticks.
So I stay out of the game altogether.
Difficult to find someone that feels the same. And when I do it's usually another woman.

I am made to feel that I don't even have the right to ask someone to wait..... esp at my age.
I am made to feel abnormal. And it feels like pressure.
So as far as I'm concerned, if that's the deal, I can do without. wine

Gets lonely, sure.......... but c'est la vie!!!

First of all, sex and love aren't the same things. But sex with someone you love is by far the best.
If I saw enough potential in that relationship waiting would not be a problem.
peace

Absolutely if everything else was great. This usually/never happens within my age group (from my experiences) but I would, definitely.
Agree with everyone that said the relationship itself/friendship/love/caring/give and take, it's awesome even without sex.

I would probably say yes, and then go into full seduction mode, I'm very physical and couldn't imagine waiting a year. But I'm 48, I made my first fiance wait over a year because I was still a virgin and wanted to be sure. So I think the stage in life you are at has a lot to do with it.

I think that is one of the most important aspects of this question, Jbibza. Thank you for bringing that out. I was thinking the same thing, but who cares what a 58-year-old thinks, so thanks for saying it for me.

Breezee, maybe you'd feel more comfortable with a woman, or a very understanding man that you were willing to be upfront and honest with.

If you found someone you really cared about and they told you they would like to wait a year or more before they have sex with you (because they really need to get to know who you are first or for whatever other reason) would you be in a relationship with them?

no problem with that at all.....as long as they understood that I would have occasional "outing" for a healthy sexual outlet!!
