I hate to stick out, but I love Christmas!! I mean I have been single for the past 5 Christmases in a row, and it doesnt really bother me. I mean sure I would like to have someone, all of my sisters and brother in laws come in to town, I am the only one not married, but I really dont mind too much.. I just love to have all of my family together in the same place, something that rarely happens with two brother in laws in the Marines...
I shop for a month so that everyone has a few presents to open, and thats the best part I think. Watching all the kids opening all of their presents, and seeing the look in their eyes when they get something they really wanted. Then having all of my neices and nephews and my kids play all day long while the grownups sit around and chat all day about the past year! Its all about family for us, and weather I am in relationship or not, I will still be happy to see my family!!
I think this year maybe we will add a few verses from the Bible, someone earlier made a good point about that, sorry I dont remember who it was! But I have three stages of Bibles, a regular one, one for older kids, and one for the younger ones. Maybe we will get them all out read a bit as a family, I think it would be wonderful!!
Thanks guys, and have a wonderful Christmas!!waving santa

My neighbour seems to have no friends or family.. ( he is an ex heroin junkie)

He has been a GREAT neighbour to me..

At Christmas I always buy him cigarettes and bottle of Whiskey.. then take it too him with Christmas food munchies.. mince pies and all that kind of thing.. then on Christmas Day .. my dad or I drop him around a dinner.

I just feel bad that we are all YEEHARRRRING and he is sat there alone. We have asked him to join us over the years, but he has always *Politely declined*.. He's a very nice man, and he has bugger all.

I have a neighbor like this, he is a little old man, and his wife has numerous medical problems that keep her confined to her bed, strokes and what not... I feel sorry for him because he is at least 70-75 yrs old, and still works 6-7 days a week, long hours, to keep up with his wifes medical bills. On Thanksgiving I cooked extra of everything and carried them some dinner- ham, homemade rolls, pies, you name it, if we ate it, so did they!! It felt really good to take that to them, and I will be buying him a new pair of hat and gloves because he is always out around 10 when he gets off work, walking his dog.
I would invite him over, but his wife cant leave ehr house unless by ambulance, so that cant happen. Just some dinner and maybe a couple of presents... I dont think they even have kids or anything, I never see anyone over there, but I have only been in this town for about a year, so I could be wrong...

Its so sad for people to be alone, I wish I could visit everyone!! Now I need to get ready and go and volunteer at my local charity getting presents ready for all the kids!!

Have a wonderful day everyone!!

as time passes, so does our families. I have a very small family left. Rather than thinking of what is lost, I prefer to think of the memories gained.

I do understand what you are talking about, I see a lot of people down in the dumps. I feel for themcomfort

Especially this time a year, I seek comfort in being around alot of people. I also have been a secret santa for many years. I volunteer at the senior center here and have given every senior a present. Plus I have donated over 100 presents to volunteers of america.Plus being a cashier I have collected over 400 presents for toys for tot, and hundreds of dollars for st. judes hospital. ( I am the only one in the store that asked for donations, as my co-workers feared being rejected.) But every present I give away or collect for charity fill my heart and soul. Every day, I see people wanting to take, take ,take. But How many people do you see giving of their time to charity? There are so many organizations out their that need volunteers. Ok, I am getting off my soap box nowconversing

It seems that there are many sad people on the forums of late. A lot of hurt feelings. But it seems around this time of year our expectations to be happy become to much for ourselves and we end up being the opposite and sad. So any one who is feeling sad and alone i hope Christmas passes quickly for you and the new year brings a brighter future.
comfort hug
