I will assume that you are posting this as a "tongue in cheek", thread. So calling you a fool would be inappropriate.

As women get older they tend not to exercise their brains as much as men . . . and it results in mental decline.

No, really. I have really observed women on the whole becoming more forgetful as they get older - and blaming it on Alzheimers!!!

I was reading philosophy in my apartment foyer and the elevator came down. A woman stepped out and went to leave the building. She stopped, realised she had forgotten something and went back up the elevator.

Then the elevator came down and a different woman walked out, realised she had forgot something, and went back up.

They both came down a short while later and left the building - separately - having their handbags with them this time.

Also, I observed a woman get out of her car, deliver something from her boot, come back, close it, get in behind the wheel and sit there for a moment, negated. Then she got out again, went and got her car keys out of the lock at the back of the boot where she had left them.
Don't make me laugh your only 24 and you say observed women how long for. rolling on the floor laughing

There are female philosophers, they are just unknown. Since the beginning of time, we've been busy taking care of men, children, etc..and as time passed, jobs outside of the home as well.

Can any man answer this? Why are there so many dead beat dads?
The woman USUALLY carries on with the upbringing, financial part of it all....the men just leave.....what's the logic, intelligence of that for men?

Technically, I would rather be a caring loving creature rather than a human who thinks they know it all and is uncaring toward mankind.
ummm, I understand the premise and agree but the facts are, well lets say that there are also dead beat moms, to that I can attest from personal experience ... professor

Philosophy is observation and reflection.

Everyone has made very valid points here, however . . .

But still . . . is woman equal to man . . . greater than, less than . . . is there some kind of happy medium? etc . . .

It’s actually a serious question.

he is just an attention monger Bubbles. He doesn't realize what the real world is like....understandable since he spends most of his time preening his ego and studying nonsense.
I thought you were going to say preening his moustache so that he could look like his mum.

to answer the women and philosphy question...

There do seem to be fewer female than male philosophers, and perhaps women find philosophy too
abstract. Perhaps there is a certain personality type which is attracted to the abstract which is mainly
to be found in men. Antony Storr in Human Aggressionhas suggested that two philosophers —
Descartes and Schopenhauer — had schizoid personalities: cold, aloof, superior and detached. It
would be a plausible suggestion to say that this type is likely to be attracted to analytical philosophy.

On Nietzsche's account (and Freud and probably many others) a woman would only be a philosopher
if she goes against her nature, and there are more natural than unnatural women. That could be it!

Quiet, old man.

It's a serious question with a very predictable effect - which if you see the original post, I already predicted.

So at any rate, woman are more predictable than men . . .

Or are they?

I think Ray's simply trying to stimulate debate here by playing devils advocate.

Yes it's a potentially divisive topic, but if handled in a mature manner, it could prove enlightening.

Always a pleasure to witnes a classy, intelligent lady clear the gangways with a salient and well thoght out respone, without resorting to a personal attack!wink

I was talking about percentage wise. Over the ages, men have proven to be worthless compared to women. I never said that there weren't deadbeat moms, but the majority have been and are men.

Brilliant answer. Thank you. Hmmm . . . evidently not all woman are equal and some actually have an intelligent retort and don’t fall so easily for what is a most evident trap set for them and one to which I clearly alluded in the first post.

Yes, I recall Nietzsche saying in ‘Beyond Good and Evil’ that women with scholarly inclinations generally go against their sexual nature.

That's Nietzsche for you.

You don't read . . . philosophy do you? Hmmm . . . not all woman were made equal . . .
