I think assisted suicide is a very humane and dignified way to exit this world. We put animals to sleep to ease the pain, yet laws say we must live in unbearable pain.. Yet we assist animals who we don't know what they want. Yet if mankind, voices what we want, instead of relief, we are locked-up as a threat to ourselves....go figure!!christmas sad

Yes I would consider it for me.. and yes I would consider helping a loved one.

In my job I see people in those situations everyday..

I wouldn't consider it at ALL in my job, as they are not MY loved ones.. and it is not my place to do anything about it.

but MY loved ones and me... yeah if that's what we agreed.. then yes.

I've not voted in your poll as to be honest. I can't understand why you have asked three questions instead of one main question with a choice of answers for us to choose from...

With a subject as sensitive as this I really think you should have stated it more clearly.

However, I will answer the quesions individually..

1) Yes, I do think Euthanasia is murder.

2) No, I would not assist a loved one with suicide.

3)No, I would not consider it for myself.

peace

Yes , I think its murder .. os there are al ot of factors to be considered !!!

I am not sure really if i would do it for a loved one cos i would try my best to comfort them in any way possible .. but this needs a lot of courage.

For myself , i want to live to see my own natural end ..

Ship's answer is perfect, especially for those suffering and being kept artificially alive.
The only thing that I will add is that I've never known a soldier who was charged or prosecuted for doing the same during combat to his friend or fellow kameraden...It is hard to see, hard to do and hard to live with afterwards...at times.

Have known enough terminal people, and have seen how much they suffered, so yes, I would do it for someone who really wanted it. As for myself, sure, if I were in the same state as some I have seen, would just seem the appropriate thing to do. Guess you would have had to seen as much death and all as I have, but I really believe in QUALITY of life over quantity.

~~~Yes, I would consider it for myself
~~~Yes, I would consider helping a loved one

~~~To euthanize indiscriminately is murder.
I spend four days a week helping to take care of a very dear friend.
This LADY has spent her life to help others. She is a high school english teacher that has changed many kids lives for the better. She has lung cancer that has metastasized to her brain, caused tumors to grow throughout her body and she is in incredible pain. We've spent the past month in hospice care. She begs for release, and has screamed at us that if she were a dog we'd do it. Until you see this kind of suffering I don't know that you can fully understand....JMO
It is and watching someone waste away in pain is hard to live with too.It's a double edged sword of the worse kind.
We all want to hope for a cure when someone is ill or hurt and it's normal for ourselves to wants to live but on the other hand when you know nothing lies ahead but pain and suffering,it makes one think.angel
I don't think it's murder when done for the right reasons
I wish I could have done it for a family member
I would want it for myself if it was at that point
