I don't look at many to be fair, but I can honestly say I've never thought wow, there's a guy I'd like to know more about.

Sometimes they read like, 'this is what I think I should say', or 'I'm making a statement here, listen up!'

Are guys a bit reluctant to show their true colours? Maybe some womens' profiles are the same......don't want to be accused of sexism!

Mine is drab...I hate talking about myself...someone wants to know me, they can email with questions...I have read a few that are really interesting and they turn out to be jerks..just keep checking and emailing...that's what I do

I agree. I mean most people don't know what to write about themselves and the ones that do, look like they are either trying too hard or are up themselves. That's just my opinion. Ever hear the phrase "don't judge a book by its cover"?

Quite true, I don't really think that I'd go by what a person's says on his/her profile... as most of them are blatantly putting in "nice-sounding" adjectives that might, or might not, reflect their personalities. I don't think writing a profile is easy though... like, how the hell can you describe yourself, your life, your beliefs, your ambitions, your likes and dislikes in a couple of words??

It's easy to come up with some sacarine sweet speil about how cool we are, how our friends think we're the dogs doo daa's...too easy!

I pay little or no attention to profiles...not that I'm looking or anything.

BUT! If I was, I'd use the forums as the main vehicle in finding out about somebody, initially that is.

I agree completely, mine was much longer initially but it just seemed pointless really so I edited it down to very little.

We don't get verbal diarrhoea (brit sp) when we meet people in real life do we. Imagine spilling as much as some people write in their profiles during the first meeting!
