Well observed. And what is Christianity itself but an interpretation of Christ's teachings?
Hey, D! Do you believe Christ was a man, or God in the flesh? Do you believe he walked on water, turned water into wine, healed the sick with his hands, was of an immaculate conception and born of a virgin womb?
Just interested to know where you are coming from in defense of Christianity?
In philosophy we have an adage: there was one true Christian, and he died on the cross. A true Christian therefore is an aspirant of Christ.
You said that you thought that Jesus was a prophet and maybe had some good creeds to live by ( sorry not quoting) , but was not God , the thing is as someone else has posted but no one has paid attention to- HE SAID HE WAS GOD, there can be no half way point here, either he was a liar - (which he died for) or he was insane (which he died for)
or he was as he said the SON OF GOD AND INFACT GOD and came to grant forgiveness to man ( which he died for ) .In this a person must decide liar , insane, or God
Some people have stated that the apostles did what they did for money, Ha that is totally wrong CHRISTIANITY WAS AN UPSTART RELIGION stemming from Jewish beliefs and was looked down upon even by the Jews (who later were considered heretics by the Catholic church because they didn't and still dont believe in Christ, hence the treaty of Trent and the Catholic popes blessing to Hitler in his quest to exterminate heretics) and if the matter were looked into people would find that all of the apostles except John were martyred the only
worldly thing following Christ, brought them , death. No riches no fame , although their names live on today, few people including those who are supposed to know have ever really looked into it many think the apostles lived high on the hog when infact they were hated by ALL
Religious and Political leaders of their time, persued , persecuted, and killed
