yep, it is down to choice Riya in my opinion - I think this is where a lot of peoples guilt trips come in to play too - sometimes people feel guilty about allowing themselves to feel better - maybe they did something which felt right for them but was maybe not right in the eyes of their particular religion or something i.e. divorce

but sometimes we have to be number 1

this opens many doors at times which people find difficult to deal with too - but help is always at hand - especially here, where we are all friends regardless - right?

Easier to lend a hand than to reach for it !!

So, lets reach when its friends around.wine

hmmm, now this is a strange one to touch on and I am gonna have to draw on all my positivity here to stay on top of things - the day she died, i was with her in intensive care (had been there for 2 weeks) i just had to go to the loo and whilst there i has a very strange thing happen - i know she was in my mind and she said - mum, i have to go, it is the thing i have to do but i love you and i know you know that - she died pretty soon after i got back to her that day - but she has been with me so many times since - all of my happy times I speak to her - if I have an exam i speak to her half (haha, all the) way through - when I laugh i share it with her

I have positivity

I didnt lose her, I have her to greet all over again in my future somepalce

She is in that better place for sure - I dont need to give it a name - I just know it 'is'

nothing much Gilly...

We have tall colorful Christmas Trees ( red, green, blue, white), Santa Claus giving candies to kinds and big kids, and lights give more life to the busy Bangkok Metropolitan... but there's still no Christmas... just these lights, Santa Claus and christmas trees but in its real essence Christmas is nothing if you're far away from home and you're alone...sigh and if people don't really know the essence of Christmas!!!

dancing banana Anyway, you've been here!!!! we'll it's still fun, you know how people live here especially when you're in Bkk. No
, I relocated a month ago to Bkk. I used to live in the countryside where my job required me to stay.... actually I'm not really from here.. just an Expat working here.

Merry Christmas and a Happier New Year to you Gilly!!!!

so where are you from originally then ?...where do you in the country then ? are you a teacher ? how come you're english is so good ? have you travelled much then ? what type of music do you like to listen to ? ...and what type of films do you like watching ? ( i'm very nosey by the way )!

laugh

i never saw much of bangkok when i went there ..because i did'nt like it ( its most probally a very interesting beautifull place but i went there on aa 10 day package tour connected to asia hotel groups .

the holiday was for 5 nights in the asia bangkok hotel and 5 nights in the asia pattaya hotel .

well after the first night i asked if i could spend the rest of the nights in pattaya instead by the beach instead of being stuck in the traffic congested city.

over here in london we have a magazine called 'time out' and there was a guide for far eastern holidays including what to do in thailand.

i always remember going to a couple of bars where they said creative people ' hang out ' patpong 1 and 2 and said " no lets get out of here go to the gulf of siam .. and go trekking and scuba diving !

yay

i loved pattaya and immediately met some english people to hang about with and also went to rayong with . that was great

trekking to chang mai to meet the hill tribe people in the karen village was great !

i went back to thailand again the following year but this time to phucket to do scuba diving ....but regret not going to koo somui and another island i forgot the name off now

crying moping crying

there's something about the spirit of the far east that i like ..but just can;t explain .

i'm really looking forward to going back there and visiting the buddist temples .

by the way i did'nt expect there to be any christmas trees in thailand at all seen as its a buddist country ...so thats interesting .

hope to chat to you on the " good morning people of thailand burma and malaysia !...whats happening over there ? " thread one day

Happiness isn't a state of mind in my opinion.

A happy outlook is...seeing the positive in any situation, that I gan agree with.

But try being happy in the midst of a family tragedy!

So, such happiness can, and always will be compromised.

And this is leaving out all those who are chemically depressed and have no say in the matter of when they are 'allowed' to feel happines.

No, it is as Airliner once said, 'There are no happy people, just happy moments'.

I think he's onto something there...

Thank you... thank you.... Im not originally from here. I am from the Philippines and working as a teacher to Thai kids... and I love jazz, country music, pop, soft rockn religious songs angel angel

Good for you that you've been to places like Phuket and Chiang Mai. I've been here for 2 years but all I have ever visited are Pattaya and Patpong (lol) so you dont like it in Patpong? why? well, have been to GP places suitable to my age. angel scold its tolerable tho!!!laugh I have'nt tried trekking in Siam Gulf just in the interiors of the country.

I hate the traffic in Bkk so I rather enjoy living in the countryside where I can go watch the sunrise and sunset, the mountains, the country people and the animals. Its a nice country with great people and delicious food and its more free here.

Because of western influence, Thailand is celebrating "Christmas" symbolized by these tall beautiful trees, white men disguising as Santa Claus, lights and christmas songs and mainly because people from different countries who are here are celebrating Christmas.
