On the outside everything looks so good. They are family orientated, with lots to do for the kids and teenagers. I did enjoy the dances and suppers, but what got to me was the testimonies, they always said they were glad they found the church not found Jesus. When I asked about this they said it is because the church is Jesus.
They don't like me, I am not a subservient type. I think I am a strong women, and they do not like that.

That and I told them not to bug me anymore..rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

I just flat out told them. I never invited them in either.

I was running a chain saw in my yard, cutting down a pine tree, and these missionaries came by I had a lot of clothes on, as it was kind of cold weather. I think he thought I was a guy, I had my hair tucked up under a baseball cap. He looked at my chest while he was talking, his eyes got big.dropping jaw I think he was freaked out that I was a girl. Needless to say when he realized, he left fast.rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

Let us try this.

One of the last things said on the cross as he was dieing.
Christ said "It is finished."

I am a very basic Christian. But even I can see that if these
were some of his last words prior to death, rebirth and ascension.
They are important.

To me those words say, that his physical work here was
complete. At this point I begin to vary greatly with groups
like Mormons that are said to have these long term encounters
with him to write an entire new book of faith.

So I will base my rejection of this book of Mormon, on what
Christ has said.

Happy Holidays All

It is..if you believe it to be! The Bible is the verbatim word of God...if you believe it to be.

For the gentleman above me who quotes "it is finished", why they are Christians looking for his return?? I thought it was finished!!

what is finished is the building of the bridge for us to return

oh its just gonna cause controversy

i think whats a better explanation is to read the very end of the bible
it says not to add to or take away from this book

the book of mormon, is as mormons say
additional to the bible
so how can they support the bible PLUS another bible

all of this is nips and quotes taken out of context
so delicious for humans to exaggerate or discount their possible value

thats why whats offered is simply a relationship
jesus is absolutely against religiosity and such
he made that clear repeatedly- relationship is whats available
religion is a trap-full of people-which are always difficult to relate to,
let alone to gain anything really uplifting/sustaining from-

thing is-to agree w/ any of this one would have to
believe somewhat in jesus

what i like to remember is that christians are called to witness
not to judge

Perhaps that is something for each individual believer to conclude withhis/her free will and God's guidance. I know that many are waiting for Christ return. But man's time frame and God's time frame are hardly the same. How many times has the calendar been changed since Christ was here?

Also they need to be looking for a risen Christ. Not the one on the cross that day. That is a vastly different Christ than spoke those words.

But you make a good point. What was finished? Was it salvation? Was it life over death? Was it forgiveness of sins? I think......that was that it was his work on Earth that was finished. That now with the coming transformation and ascension, he would be in one fellowship with his Heavenly Father, God.

That is why, I feel OK in using the words to say that the Book Of Mormon to be false. The Book of Mormon is still a book on Earth...a work here. Christ has already said I am finshed here and headed to higher and heavenly places before it was written.

The Rosetta Stone was discovered nearly 30 years before the book of mormon was transcribed. Also where are these so called gold plates that Smith was shown?. When Harris one of Smiths followers lost a copy of what Smith had transcribed he had to start all over gain. I wonder if the new version is exactly the same as the lost version.

There is a great Skit on Mormons in South Park. Once you have seen it you will know how their Religion is hard to take seriously. I also don't understand, why booze, caffeine and drugs is banned from being taken. Can anyone tell me why?.

Wow, are you all serious, this is still a debate! Moronism, I mean Mormonism has many things about it that make it stand out as a false religion, but I'm not going to go into all that, you all have been doing a fine job on that, and as for the rightness of it well it won't get you to where you want to go if that's why you're there, and finally there are some, though very little, good points about it. Ok let's back up here for one sec, and talk about religion in general.

Let's take the fact on why religion was created in the first place, a few reasons as we all know in our modern world. One man wanted to know his creator and why he's here. Two man wanted a set of laws that would help him live a better life. Three man wanted a way to help make his world safer by giving all the lawless and Godless people in the world a structure of living to make his own world a better place to live. If you follow "my religion" you will live a better life and know God, and now my family and I are safe from threats that are very obvious back in that day and age. All these point to why religion was started in the first place. Mormon's do not, AND I MEAN DO NOT believe that Jesus was God in the flesh like other Christian religions, they do not believe in the holy trininty (three are one) like most other Judeo-Christian religions! One thing you will never hear from the Mormon church if one of their secret core beliefs: When you die you will become a God and rule with your spouse over a planet much like Earth! You will have worshipers and followers and much of the same things that went on here will happen there! Ok just learning that, who else wanted to be God???? And got kicked out of heaven for it???? I wonder??? Do I need to say who, we all know the problem with thinking we can take God's place and do a better job than he. Ok ok, now what the others say about the KJV Bible is very important: Let no man add or subtract from this work, and those that do let them be cursed.

Ok that right there tells us don't f$%ck with the word of God people, it's done! It happened! Get over yourselves! You didn't think of it, do it, nor would you want to!! I didn't think of it, do it, or would have the strength, only God has that kind of love for his people! Last of all the religions and prophets only one, yep (1) decided to proclaim himself to be God in the flesh and die for everyone's sins, come on is it really that hard to figure out? He came, he saw, and he died for us all, and rose again for all of us to know him, his will and his plan for each of us. If that's the case why are we still mass-debating? Let's get to the good stuff, a better tomorrow and toss down the weapons and pick up hammers, wow. yay

I just LOVE the Christians that are slagging on Mormons, calling the LDS a cult, quoting the Bible, saying it glorifies men and all that.

I of course do not believe the book of Mormon, but could someone please explain to me how the Christian bible, or the Jewish Torah is any more believable? What makes the LDS and Joseph Smith interesting to me is the fact that we can look back and see how a religion is created and implemented. I majored in Religious Studies in college, and we spent quite a bit of time on the LDS, and how it spread, and the history of it. Quite interesting. I find the idea of the angel Moroni just as believable as Jesus Christ. Point is, there is no compelling evidence that either existed.

Let's be honest, all religion is based on faith, as proof is scant for ANY religious belief system.

I used to go to the Mormon church but stopped because of people telling me Mormons believe in a different Jesus than what is in the bible, and that the bible says not to add or subtract from that book. I was wondering is that just to the last book about the end times or the whole bible? Is the bible not made up of different books put together to make the bible?

The mormons came yesterday to leave a present and it was the book of mormon again plus a video.

Religion is a personal choice, you will feel what is right for you in your heart, some would say God will show you the path he wants you to take.
No man or woman can tell you whether a book is BS or Real, and anyone who tries is a MORON, because they weren’t around to see the events that happened or didn't. As we have seen way to many times in life people tend to twist what religion says to fit the way their twisted little minds work.
If you have doubts about your religion, look else where, your heart will point you in the right direction

Let me ask everyone a question.... Why the Hell do you care what mormons believe in? Are you One? then why worry about it? Why is everyone so eager to prove everyone else wrong..... Worry about yourself and what your doing and what you believe and leave everyone else alone!
