I as many others have been here for quite some time, it's nice to see that only those who are regulars seem to get any response. Kind of makes me wonder why I am even here.

It's funny when you really look at it 20 threads about the GD thing and some fall prey to every one of them. And Gilly man give it a rest, we are not children. Your ideas spark no interest with the vast majority of us.

I like to come here for some interesting topics and conversation, but man that is pretty hard to find these days.

Feel free to tell me to F off if you wish, but man, get a grip people.......
Have only just logged on and found this, could not agree more.

What Gilly professes as trying to inhibit his freedom of speech, is trying to inhibit freedom from crap

ive never found it cliquey

even from day 1 i made a few threads and they got responded to

have added to ppls threads, some ppls have agreed with what i have to say, some have laughed at it, and some have not liked it at all

but ive never felt unaccepted

as for gilly, i like some of his threads and reply, and dislike some and dont reply ...... but that goes for other ppls threads too ...... i would never dream of telling anyone to "give it a rest"

when ppl complain that they would like "interesting topics and conversation" theres a simple enough answer

make an interesting thread and converse with the ppl that respond to it

job jobbed !!

when we watch tv ....... we use the remote to switch over or surf the channels when we dont like what we are seeing

easy enough to apply that in here ...... read a bit, skip a bit, until you find a bit ya like

and if nothing sparks ya interest ........ theres always an off button and a good book on a shelf somewhere

I kind of get your drift about the clique thing as I've noticed in some threads the same large bunch of people all talking drivel and to each other yawn

To be honest, it doesn't bother me not getting a reply from members of cliques such as these as they bore me anyway yawn

As for your second paragraph about the posting of mainly boring crap that sparks no interest with many of us. Yeah, thumbs up I'm with you on that.

Lastly, I think that some of the topics are interesting and as for the conversation. That usually takes place in the background via my inbox which is fair enough.

Hey Tampa, I checked out your profile to make sure you were the one and only Tampa from way back.....and you are!

Have you been away like me? I feel the exact same way, maybe it's because there are lots of new people who have been bonding during our leave of absence. I'm not part of any cliques but they do exist, sometimes just three or four people have a four page thread conversation and when you try to contribute you're ignored. sigh

Well I put that down to bad manners and go elsewhere, but as you say there aren't too many really interesting threads, just same old same old.

Keep trying though, sometimes there are interesting things to be found and there are some very nice people here too.

Been here for about a month now, haven't found it to be a problem.

If I'm interested in a thread I post. If not interested I skip.

That simple.

Sometimes people respond to what I say, other times nobody bothers.

So? Still getting to know people from all over. I meet them mostly here on the forums, but the conversation and exchanges happens via e-mail or IM.

Sometimes it's just fun threads, other times I have found deep discussion goin on, about everything. There are days when there isn't anything interesting me, so I switch off and go watch a movie or something.

What is it exactly that u expect out of this service anyway?

cool

I think some people know each other and as in RL it's only natural that you talk with the people you know.

Sometimes my post's aren't responded to sometimes they are that's life.

Overall all i've never been made to feel unwelcome and have made some good internet friends, think it's a bit rude to say people talk inane drival, but your entitled to your opinion wine

I've been here for two days and people are responding to me (wave thank you all). I don't feel excluded at all.

Maybe if you come up with some 'interesting' threads of your own instead of waiting for others to present them to you...here's to you

What Im saying is that on the night this was previously discussed...and I dont want to go into it all again.....a lot of newbys jumped in and agreed that a lot of people were overlooked when trying to join in...some nice people, regular posters included, welcomed them but since then as far as I can see nothing has changed..these people have stopped posting...I would also like to say I had some very negative comments from a couple of the women for saying I thought 'in my opinion only' that a clique existed..in fact one woman accused me of being 'doomed' for agreeing with such a thing and another said the newbys were being ignored for not formally introducing themselves....confused also spelling seemed to be an issue for some of the kingpins or queens as some call themselves....anyway I will leave it there cos if we start going around in circles again it will become very very boring yawn and btw morganlee I wasnt having a go at you just voicing my opinion although I guess on here it will deffo be in the minority.
