Just wondering how many people actually run background checks or at least a google search on people they meet online?

Didn't bother me at all, If it made her feel safer knowing more about me so much the better.

The world as we know it is a sick place, with demented people everywhere. I wasn't upset because I told her what my history was. I was honest and forthcoming with it because a relationship will not work with skeletons in the closet. And really it's just a smart thing to do these days.

While I, personally have never "googled" anyone I was interested in, when I was first getting to know my wife -- Whom I met HERE -- one of the first things I did was give her my full name and invite her to google ME. (Thank goodness the prison record didn't show up!) (I'm KIDDING!)

Seems to me that honesty is everything and inviting someone to check your background is just another way to prove your sincerety, especially in the day and age of electronic anonymity and internet scams.

thumbs up

I myself have never really checked them out but since I know 3 ladies personally that have died from meeting men on blind dates I will call it. I have became alittle scared these days on meeting someone. So before I go on a blind date I will ask the guy what kind of vechile he has so I know what to look for and his license plate so it is easier to pick his vechile out incase there are others there like it and I all ready have his full name and I carry my cell phone and have people call me through out the night to make sure I am ok and still alive and if by chance I disappear than all this info that I have all ready given to someone else before going out will be able to at least give it to the police and hopefully it would be a good enough lead to catch the guy.

I would also give all the important details to my friends before I would meet someone, (The stuff *I* have found as well as what they have told me)

So that my friends know where I am and who with,

AND where to start first if something goes wrong.

Though.. In MY case.. it's more likely HE would end up in a ditch before *I* did. devil laugh

oh , this is becoming more scarey each time i hear about things that happen, all we want is to find new friends who understand what its like in our situation, and maybe, just maybe we can find someone to love and be loved by..and its damaged by this hanging over us...I just want to love, live, laugh, and share it...so best we al be really carefull, please take care all of you...listen to warnings please...
