Had a car accident, skidded on oil in middle of road and carriedwas across carriageway, and had a head on collision. Had to be cut out of car, was aware of what was happening as if i was watching it. Luckily no one died
That sounds similar to the one I was in. cold

oh my god !...what went through your mind during those few seconds during the skid...and then all the time you stayed trapped in the car then????

With the accident I was in, I was bracing myself for any pain that may come and thinking this was the end, then it was over and we were all okay and I had not even a scratch! angel thumbs up

New years day 87, we were snowed in at a
bunkhouse in Glencoe in the Scottish Highlands.
Later in the day we got the word, the road had
reopened. We jumped into the car and headed
for home.
Not long into the journey whilst crossing
Rannoch Moor, a notorious accident black spot,
the car skidded off the road.
It was totally dark as the car rolled over and
over for what seemed an age, eventually
coming to a rest on its roof.
The funny thing was, there was no fear, just
an acceptance of, this is it, goodbye cruel world.
The fear came when we realised, just one wrong
move and maybe the car would start rolling again.
We managed to climb out of the windows and in
the darkness, covered in mud and blood, scrambled
back up to the road.
A lucky escape i wouldnt want to repeat in a hurry.

Yup, I know the feeling, our car made like 3 donuts then rolled over like twice to land rightside up. Scary stuff! The crazy thing is that we had just gotten off of like 3 planes coming home from the airport from a vacation! All of that flying we did and almost got killed on the ground in a car!

i've had 2 really scary moments in my life - one was when my date and i were coming out of a resturant and 2 guys held us up at gunpoint, one of them held a gun to my head and told my date to hand over his wallet & jewelery, which he did of course and then they took my purse and jewelery and then ran off.

the other time was when i was managing a video rental store and a man came in & pointed a gun at me & told me to give him all the money in the register and then he made me lay on the floor & i thought he was going to shoot me, but all he did was run away.
Wow I can't imagine that, I know that had to be terrifying!

I don't have a clue if they were ever caught. I was on vacation at the time. I never saw my wallet again. Why would a person risk their life for any money? Whether it be theirs or belong to someone else.
So true, money can be replaced!

tell us the story !

Haven't stared in the face - Thanks be to God ..... but as I lay in the hospital bed last year - I did certainly think about life and where I was going and if I was ready to leave this earth. I think for me it was an awakening that I didn't want to be alone when I did finally go - felt very lonely and scared there being by myself ..... so I'm glad that's over with!!

gilly i didnt say funerals were a waste of time
i said i think they are a waste of money

besides i dont wanna be lyin in the ground somewhere where my kids
or anyone else might feel obligated to go visit from time to time

just my feeling on it...
I agree MindfFul.. hug

I too think funerals are a waste of money.. what a RIP OFF..

I've told my family to find the CHEAPEST box they can fling me in.. not to worry about a service/cars and all that.. just cart me off the crem and spend the money on a party instead.

My dad told me not to worry about him either, he said to just put him in a wheelbarrow and tip him down the nearest mine shaft
rolling on the floor laughing

Roommate turned coke dealer. As my friend and I were packing his stuff and putting it out on the sidewalk, he came home and leveled a shotgun at my face. I laughed in his face and told him point blank "you ain't gonna shoot me". Guess he realized I was right because he lowered the barrell and walked away.
Hell yeah, it was a bold bluff, but it worked. My poor friend left a wet spot on the couch she was so scared LOL

Sorry Gilly, can't make any promises. Sure, have walked away to protect others from what would have happened to them if I had stood my ground (a circle of girls wanting to jump you and knowing your buddy couldn't hold their own if it went down, so I kept my hands in my pockets and walked away, taking that cheap shot, and sucking the blood out of my lip the whole way home so the one who did it wouldn't get the satisfaction of seeing me with a fat lip, but boy was she hiding the next day when she KNEW I WAS HUNTING HER DOWN FOR A ONE ON ONE! LOL Even her little sister came begging to me for mercy, but none was given).
But when it is just me, I will go down spitting in their eye before I will ever grovel or beg!
