Actually, I don't think the parents would get a chance to treat them anyway at all. Based on society today, the child would throw a little tantrum because the parents wouldn't condone their lifestyle and choose to stay away from the parents as "punishment" for not letting the child have his own way.

I know that all of you think that no parent would, but I live in Utah, and there are alot of Mormon families that disown thier kids, and they are excommunicated from the church.

I have a friend that is gay and mormon. It is very sad, she has no contact with her family.

It is such a controversy here, that I have another friend that is doing a documentary called "Being Gay and Mormon"

The mormons have a program to make gays straight.

I am catholic, and I noticed a gay couple sitting in front of me. I know the church does not accept it, and they were still there. I thought that was cool. I applaude them.applause

If I was the child...damn straight...I don't see a parent not accepting me as I am...as Love...

It wouldn't be a punishment or not having my way that would keep me away...BUT the sheer lack of love that goes with not accepting my choices as an adult...conversing conversing

I have a friend that is gay and mormon. It is very sad, she has no contact with her family.


I forgot the most important part. She was on her Mormon mission and fell in love with her Companion!!!(some one that you stay with on your mission)

So she went to the Bishop of the church and told him that she was in love with her companion!

She is a nice person, and a humanitarian. She visits and cares for women dying of cancer once a week.

Some years ago my sisters best friend *Came out*...

she was a LOVELY LOVELY kind gentle soul..


Her parents BOTH disowned her.. then she joined the RAF.. (army) .. and LOVED it...

Until they found out she was gay.. and kicked her out..


She eventually ended up with anorexia.. and one day hung herself from the beam in her bedroom with her dressing gown cord.

You always need a control question, or in this case you should get only a 100 percent vote in the affirmative.

Mind you, anyone who would turn there back on their child without a really good reason isn't much of a parent.

I agree, it would have been far more interesting if this was brought into the poll, after all then its a perspective on how parents would feel about homosexuality, not love.

1) love them regardless
2) love them and disaprove of their lifestyle choice
3) love them and hope its a "phase"
4) love them but disapprove for religious reasons
5) it isnt important an issue for me
6) disown them
7) its evil/against gods will
8) I don't know what i will think until my child tells me
9) It is not my business, it's my childs life and i have no right to have an opinion
10) Another option.


Now that would have been a more intersting poll

Dave I would just like to say that you have stated that you like younger women. What does it matter that your are 45??? Marry the younger one! They will be there to care for your child!! You can just provide the love!

Older guys have kids all time, Look at Kirt Douglas.
