A baby asked God, 'They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow, but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?'
God said, 'Your angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you.'

The child further inquired,' But tell me, here in heaven I don't have to do anything but sing and smile to be happy.'
God said, 'Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you. And you will feel your angel's love and be very happy.'

Again the child asked, 'And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me if I don't know the language?'
God said, 'Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak.'

'And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?'
God said, 'Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray.'

'Who will protect me?'
God said, 'Your angel will defend you even if it means risking its life.'

'But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore.'
God said, 'Your angel will always talk to you about me and will teach you the way to come back to me, even though I will always be next to you.'

At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from Earth could be heard and the child hurriedly asked, God, if I am to leave now, please tell me my angel's name.'
God said, 'You will simply call her, 'Mom.'

So true but in this harsh world we must all be honest and open and admit that there is a lot of mom's closer to being a disciple of the devil rather than an angel. But it is lovely worded thread.wave

That's a beautiful story - thanks for sharing ........ we are truly the blessed ones who have been entrusted with a precious child to care for.

My grandson is 8 1/2 months old at the present time - and he's a total joy in my life (although I do call him "monkey boy" because he's into everything!!!!!) .... but I wouldn't trade it for the world.

I am sorry, i hope no-one was offended but personally any mother that would murder their own child, what other conclusion could you come too. But lets not delve down this route, lets get this topic back to the beautiful and loving standard it belongs.

I was not offended by your comment hon..I was shocked by the conclusion....There are more things that can cause ppl to do the horrific things you speak of...one of them is mental illness...I would be interested in continuing the conversation with you sometime...

thank you for your inputcheers

I work in (among other things) health board cases involving children.. its true that not every mother is perfect.. many just don't have the skills, are limited educationally/emotionally or suffer from addiction problems.. rarely if ever have I seen a complete lack of love.. the love is very often present, just the parent hasn't the skills to cope...there is no manual for parenting.. and true not all get it right wave

disciple of the devil.. bit harsh.. it has to be said

I didn't murder my child - I gave up most of my family because of the decision that I made, but I CHOSE not to murder my child at the expense of everything I held dear.

Yes, I am offended by what you said.

I respect what you say, but I do think there is an certain "innateness" to being a parent; be it mother or father. After reading of a 3 year old child being beaten to death by it's parents here locally a few weeks ago it can make one wonder. I hope both get life sentences...but odds are the father will get 20 years and the mother will get 5 to 10.

Thanks for OP. T'was very good!

There are rare cases.. yes definitely.. can't ignore those.. god only knows what goes on in their heads... but I represented one mum who quiet frankly wasn't very good in the traditional sense... compared to ur adverage mum.. but it was obvious to the fly on the wall and to me that she loved her children passionately.... I encouraged her to take the help being offered(from Social Services etc).. she was inconsolable at the thought of losing her kids.. but they were in a sense being 'dragged up'.... just not always black and white.. I reckon.. but yes..people like that absolutely baffle the mind...confused. hug
