a couple of years ago i saw a story on the news that made me stop & think. maybe you heard it too.

a woman came home from work, turned on the t.v. & was watching the news. the reporter was reporting a story about a robbery in a convenience store and showing the stores security video and the woman recognized her son as the robber and turned him in to the police.

what would you do? would you turn in your own child?

i told my son if that ever happened to me i would turn him in.

I don't think I'd have any choise as much as it would hurt but most parents let their kids of to easy like i remember reading a story and the mom was cleaning her sons bedroom and found loads of guns and called the police because she was worried she found a hit list and all and i guess her husband new about all the weapons and actually helped buy them..

Disgusting.very mad

I never had to cross that bridge TG, but I think I would have to. Everyone, kids even, should have to face the consequences of their actions. Covering up for them only gives them the opportunity to keep screwing up.

Its easy for me to say i would. But, to be in that position and then react is an entirely different thing.

I do have a child, but I agree with you, Ken. Failing that, yes I would turn them in.

Never had a problem like that but if I couldn't talk him/her into turning him/herself in then I'd do it and let them know I was doing it. I may give them a chance to get a lawyer first...but if they're already on t.v. then they have no chance of not being caught up with fairly soon. If I can recognize them then I know quite well someone else can. Just have to hunt for the most sensible solution and pray that everything works out for the best for all concerned...since the worst has already happened.

Thank God I don't think I would ever have to make this decision. My son is too big a chicken to rob anyone and if he managed to pull it off, his guilty conscience would get the better of him within the day and turn himself in.

But it he did ..... never! I could never turn my child in unless another life was taken.
