Fear isn't a bad thing of itself, it keeps us safe. We all have fears, those who say they don't are either lying or idiots or crazy.

The idea is to face your fears, and not let them control you or keep you from enjoying life and love. It's like crossing a street, you should be afraid to cross a street if traffic is coming. But if you look both ways, nothing is coming, and you're still afraid to cross, that is letting fear control you.

This is a great analogy for me, and I didn't even think of it that way until I started writing it, since I was run over by a car while crossing a street. That still doesn't make me afraid to cross a street again. Sometimes we have no control over what happens, in spite of our precautions. I have been hurt, badly, in love, but that doesn't make me afraid to love again. I may be hurt again, but I will survive. What doesn't kill us may leave us scarred, I have scars for life from my experiences, but in a strange way it has made me stronger, because I know that I can survive, and that makes me less afraid of the pain. kiss hug

the time lost and probably the most foreboding fear is the opportunities I would gladly pass on only later to find that love was a fallacy.

In response to:
Nothing.

I don't look at falling in love in any other way other than positive and a privilige.

I seem to be able not to consider what could go wrong...it's pointless and self defeating often times.

What will be will be, but I'm certainly not going to burden myself in the meantime.

I suspect that having control over it means you aren't falling in love. You can't control your fall into the aforementioned bottomless pit.
