I think CS will be very good for you. There's a lot of laughter, witty exchanges aplenty and nonsense unbounded.

I'm quite content at the present moment...yes it would be nice on the really cold nights! laugh

But I'd rather not be with anyone than be an unhealthy couple thumbs up

Good thread,
I am more or less pretty comfortable being single. I do what I want when I want and no one bitches about the band being too loud or partying on too late.
On the other hand if I was totally comfy being single don't think I'd be on here! There is that part of me that still longs for that real connection and the joy of being in love.

I agree, "anything" is not better than "nothing."

There is Good/Bad being single...Single you can come home when you want..Go out when you want..buy what you want...i have good conversations with myself..i dont argue or disagree..lol..but then there is a time when you get lonely and need that other to talk to...to go out together to a movie or dinner..and then there is SEX..yes i did say that..grin I am no longer Single...and its feels great

laugh I do have an open mind when it comes to love. It's just that after my last relationship, I feel that I don't ever want to get trapped in a facade again.........blues

And then there's the flip side...

No one to come home to, no one to travel with, no one to buy special gifts for, no one to share thoughts with...
I have 2 dogs, buy cruise tickets and ask some lady if she would enjoy going on a cruise, rolling on the floor laughing , I have several "kids", none of who do not like gifts, and a few "mentors", who better to share thoughts with. At times, one of them continually tells me the sign that says "Think, Think, Think" does not apply to me as yet..sigh

On a scale of 1 to 10, 15 and climbing.

For me, I find learning to live with myself, shows me how to live with another.wink

When I travel to Vegas with my USA buddies... they usually gamble.. and I *Do* stuff...

I meet them for breakfast, then I go off and do whatever ever I have planned.. I leap on the buses, monorails, taxis and go off exploring.. I go for lunch on my own, exhibitions, shows etc. Sightseeing. (indoor sky diving haha).. helicopter flights (I do those every year- coz im sad like that haha)

And if they are gambling in the evening, I do the the same thing.. I go to bars on my own, sample the cocktails go watch a band.. Up the Paris tower.. or (as I usually do at night) spend most of the evening watching the water shows at the Bellagio, cramming frozen margaritas down my neck.

I talk to anyone and everyone.. so I never feel lonely, I've met and stayed in touch with some lovely people that way.
And to think, you would only be 4 hours from Phoenix..sigh

I am beginning to get more comfortable with it, but that might just be that the idea of dating again, introducing someone to my family, introducing them to my dog, hoping they like my pets... it's scary! I haven't done something like that for about 10 years now.

Being single is not all that great. lol, When I'm single 90% of the time I work, 10% sleep, I basically lose my social life, lol well that and I just moved 300 miles away from everyone and everything I know. The Pros are you are your own person, noone to tell you you can't do anything, or gotta be in by a certain time. Cons if you gotta work all time time, FINDING a date can be a hassle. I work night shift so ya know? lol

At this juncture, I'd have to say I am pretty comfortable with it. After all, the alternative is...what? Desperation? Mail-order brides?

Besides, the toilet paper seems to last FOREVER...
