was she refused supervised custody?? maybe it's only tempory??
It was an emergency application, so I imagine it is only temporary, cause in such circumstances she would not have had the opportunity to make respresentations... however, the way things are going Federlines case for sole custody is getting stronger and stronger.. the only thing is it might be the boot up the behind she needs.. I hope cheers

I agree she is not a capable parent... can't really argue that she should have sole custody.. supervised custody though.. mainly for the children... I would just hate for them to think that they were being abandoned.. or that she do something bad to herself.. not an easy issue though.. I definitely have to concede that!!

Hi Aries
I think I would like to see her with supervised visits, until if ever she shows that she is capable of being alone with them.
I'm not sure there is such a thing as supervised custody, I could be wrong. Isn't custody only an option if you are capable of being alone with them and caring for them, even if it is shared custody. But the childrens welfare is paramount, and the powers that be have to bear in mind safety-mental-emotional etc and so on issues.
If she loves her kids enough, if she wants them enough, then I am sure without doubt she will seek the help she needs and do all in her power to get them back. But would you not think that turning up at meetings is the first step? Even be late if she has to - but not to turn up at all. Well - Actions speak louder than words.

I really do not feel sorry for her at all, she missed important meetings with her legal team, who have in fact asked to be released from acting for her.
It says a lot when a client who would be paying them big bucks will drop you.
I am of the opinion that most parents would walk over hot coals to get custody of their children. What is so important that she missed appointments and meetings where her childrens welfare is at risk?
I wonder how full her social calendar is that she something else to do.
OK People/Parents make mistakes ... But don't they learn by them?

1. April 2006, Sean Preston falls out of high chair and hits his head. The babysitter is blamed.
2. April 2006, Britney drives with 8 month old Sean Preston on her lap.
3. April 2006, Britney is alleged to worry that Sean Preston has suffered brain damage from the 2 or 3 times he fell out of her bed while he was sleeping with her.
4. May 2006, Britney is spotted driving with Sean Preston in a forward-facing carseat. Not illegal under CA law, but ill-advised.
5. May 2006, Britney stumbles outside a NY hotel while carrying SeanPreston, nearly dropping him.
6. December 2006, Britney begins spending alot of time with Paris Hilton, partying. Paris defends her saying “partying has not come in the way of her parenting.”
7. July 2007, Britney and her kids squat at a Pacific Palisades CA home they toured as part of a real estate deal; a home on the market for $6.5 million. They eat tacos and mess up the furnishings, Britney’s bodyguards even going to her home to retrieve some of her belongings and bringing them back to the home.
8. July2007, Britney takes her kids for a boat ride in Marina del Rey; the children do not wear life jackets.
9. July 2007, it is reported that Britney has her sons fetch her cigarettes from around the house, calling them “Mama’s lollipops.”
10. August 2007, DCFS investigates allegations of poor dental hygiene, eating and sleeping habits of Britney’s children. It is alleged that Britney tried to get a LA dentist to whiten Sean Preston’s teeth, rotting from Baby Bottle Syndrome.

For a person who has virtually EVERY resource at her feet, the empathy isn't oozing from me. (as I watch her being carted off at this moment)

I also feel very sorry for her, and I dont usually have much time for these pampered women who cannot
dress themselves without helpand have no idea what it is like in the real world.

She has made a lot of big mistakes, hooking up with fed was her biggest, esp as his wife was pregnant at the time.
I just think she is lost and in a very dark place.
She does not feel she has any support at all and I don't believe her family are capabable of seeing her as their daughter, they see her as britney, the money earner.
It will take a lot to get her feeling strong.
I just hope that she gets the help she needs and does not do anything stupid,
It must be breaking her heart to not be able to see her children and while some people would be spurred on to
make the necessary changes, for others they just make more bad choices and make matters worse.
She is a lost young woman who needs a lot of support, I hope she finds it, somewhere.

The law firm Trope and Trope asked a court Wednesday to be relieved as Spears' attorneys. The firm says there's been a "breakdown" in communication with the pop princess that makes representing her "impossible" as reported.

As for the expected exit of Trope and Trope, it's hardly a first for Britney Spears when it comes to her evolving legal counsel. In September, her divorce attorney Laura Wasser threw in the towel, after which Britney Spears found new representation in Freid & Goldsman and then Trope and Trope.

The firm has yet to get a response from the court.

I agree with you about the actions speaks louder than words...I imagine she is suffering from severe depression tho so could be poss explaination.. depression can be very debilitating and people can feel completely powerless... dunno tho.. just a thought

I don't know what is like over there.. but here we have supervised access.. its rarely denied in this jurisdiction unless there is some evidence of abuse of something like that.. the courts normally acknowledge the importance of contact between children and their parent.. the emotional consequences to a child not having any contact with a parent can be more severe...

she has been given lots of chances and SHE blew every one of them.
she obviously has not hit her rock bottom yet or maybe this is it, time will tell.

the girl has lots of emotional problems and needs professional help, but as anyone who has been there knows, the first step towards recovery is being able to admit you have a problem and ask for help. until she can do this, her children are better off without her.

i'm sorry if this sounds cold & unfeeling, believe me i do not wish her any ill will i would love to see her straighten up her life & get her kids back.

I guess being a celebrity makes you crave attention. After all that's how you make your money being popular. But I think it's wrong thinking it's great to be in the spotlight for 9 months by having a baby. Brandy did it. She has her baby but she's not in the spotlight anymore with her career. Britney did it twice to keep the spotlight and when that was over she just had to find some way to stay. Unfortunately it's a negative way she's choosing.

You can not be a parent for your whole life but once you are a parent you can never not be a parent.

D'oh!

If that had been one of us everyday citizens, they would have taken the kids away immediately..no ifs, ands, or buts!

I do think she truly loves her kids...just doesn't understand how to live without the limelight!hug

I don't think she is a poor girl.
It's her own fault!
Everybody has to make decisions in life and everybody has to life with the effects of these decisions.
She had the chance to say no more then one time, it was her decision to life her live like she had did it.
She had could chance her life more then one time. She had got many warnings before and she had got many offers to help.
How many "no-VIP-woman" had got so many chances?
She is a adult person, which has responsibility for her own life.
And she is a mother and with this she had the responsibility for the life of her kids also.
She isn't the only one who had a hard childhood or who had a bad life, but it is everybodys own decision to chance things or to continue the live as always.
No she isn't poor, quite contrary in my opinion.

I am a firm believer that stupidity should hurt.

I have gone through hard times and being a single mom and being a "kid" myself and having 1/10th or less the resources that Brittney has. If she is still not smart enough to get her sh*t together, then she deserves the pain of loosing her children.

Further more her children deserve to be raised by individuals who will teach them to grow and be "successful" adults. (Maybe Brit's parents aren't the best choice, seeing how both the girls are doing at this time.)

Anywho, just my opinion!

I don't like that girl!
