Hey Mom's..this ever happen to you???

Posted: Jan 9, 2008, 3:30 PM CST
First and foremost, I want to commend each one of you for being a woman and a mother, the price that is paid greatest and the most rewarding...angel hug angel

With that being said...something kinda odd happened to me today, hasnt really happened before and was wondering if its a normal thing...

I went to the store this morning looking for a gift for a baby shower. I was overwhelmed with the smells in the baby section, you know just the smell of babies...the powders, lotions and such...the aroma's surrounded me. I looked at the lil outfits, how tiny they really are...I started missing my "babies", now not even close to babies anymore. Remembering how small, precious, and dependant on me they used to be...the innocence they carried when they slept, the faces, first words and steps, ahh I miss that. I got deep in thought for a few minutes and all of the sudden I heard this loud cry...startled me at first, I look over and there is a mother with twins, shes trying to comfort one baby and the other is throwing toys off the shelf. I went over and helped pick up the pile of stuffed animals on the floor...she said many thanks as both babies starting crying...I smiled and grabbed the nearest stuffed bear walked away admiring that mother and being a lil envious of her at the same time....then headed over and grabbed a box of condoms, just incase that need ever arises...LOL

But was a tad curious...the feeling of wanting another baby has disappeared like it wasnt really there, but just curious if those feelings ever come to you?

To all the mothers of the worldwine

Ahhhh, BEB! So, so true...that feeling, those smells, those memories!
My sons are now 27 and 23 and to this day, if I am in a U.S. grocery store or mall or something and I hear a young child's voice, calling out "Mommy!", I turn and for a split second, I expect to see one of my boys there. Yes, I do indeed miss those days.
Now, excuse me while I check my OWN condom supply!!

I was 32 with two teenagers, a boy 15 and a girl 13 when I began having these tiny tugs at my heart.

I ignored them. My husband and I had already decided we didn't want anymore children and were about to embark on a journey toward a more permanent form of birth control ; when a series of coincidences, mishaps, and blunders, created the opportunity for me to become pregnant with our third child.

He's my baby and has given me 15 and counting years of joy!
*That said be careful what you wish for, even subconsciously.
D'oh!

Hun, I miss babies every time I think about it. I still think of having another one, even though I know how hard it would be on my body. I would love a houseful, and was told by my doctor the day after I had Emily (we both almost died) that he didn't think I should do that again. A few years later another doc told me we could as long as we take necessary precautions and then do a cesarean.

I loved being pregnant, I would have another baby in a heartbeat most days.

So, yes, I see them, smell them or all of the baby smells and my heart flips into my stomach.

You're normal, hun. hug

Okay, I must be a mom, too, because I've felt exactly the same thing as you and BEB. I guess that must be the answer to the other thread: "What makes you into a Girl."

One of the things bad about women... some think they've got the market cornered on wanting to be a parent. I absolutely loved being "Daddy"... greatest job I've ever had. Still hurts that I don't see them as often as I used to.... fathered a set of twins and had step-twins... absolutely loved it! and still long for having the critters around....

aaahhh i wasnt in any way stating that men were not good parents or not as good as women. So I apologize if it offended you, by not including the word father on the title...as I am a mother I was more curious to see if other mother's ever got that desire to have more babies....
