It's an interseting concept. After all most of the people that are here are searching for a relationship and a serious one, not some fling. Being fairly new here(about a week) I find it rather sttrange that more people here have not found a match.

I really think it is fear of rejection for a lot of people. The fear of being hurt again. The fear of being foolish in front of friends. If a relation goes bad.....sometimes one or both leave the site. So many have found a family of friends here and don't want to risk losing that. And just plain shyness.

Well I figured fear of rejection. As I said though isn't that why most are here? Sure no one likes rejection, but if you never try again how will you know? I for one would rather take that leap than go through life wondering "what if?". A matchmaker would help the situation as far as rejection since it would essentially be a third party and not the person themselves.

I would have less respect for a grown man if he had to tell a third party to send me a virtual flower on the internet on his behalf.

It would feel like gradeschool when the boys would send their friend a note to send to my friend to send to me with "Do you like me? Check a box yes or no."

Rejection is rejection whether you get it directly or through a friend, or mediator.

But that's just me. dunno

Point well taken girl. I myself would not use sich a service, but I can see how or why some would. To me you have to take the good with the bad. I came here in the hopes that I would find someone, not have someone find that person for me. I am fully aware that many will reject me and I know the pain and hurt it will cause. I'm willing to take the risk, in the end it's well worth it.

In general quite a good and reasonable idea. I would imagine that a program could be written for a "matchmaker" with what you have in mind, only having the other 2 names arbitrarily chosen by the program. Responses would be a bit of a hurdle given the parameters you have suggested but finding an actual person and humane/ understanding person may be a daunting task; still a good idea though!
Other sites have long advertised their so called "match-making" abilities by basically comparing positive and negative traits(things not in common at all). Seems that some automated system programs are too impersonal from what I've heard. Best of luck!!

One proviso that I think should be made mandatory by majority of members would be that Everyone must have photos that would use this service.
