Just felt like sticking something in here.

Christian <-- me, deep in my heart/soul
Organized Religion <-- not me

Yes, organized religious units are being "taken down". Changing. Falling apart. Morphing.
No, the heart of a believer in Christ, (Christian), is non-changing. He (Christ) is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

Okay, commercial break done.

I certainly hope not.

Religious morals are one of the few things that seperate us from the animals.

Why do we need religion to have morals?

You dont , but to have morals you may need spirituality, if I were devoid
of spirituality, what would I care about how I carry on ,what is the difference between morality and spirituality , doesn,t your spirit lead your morality. wave

Well, I'm listed as Christian and I do believe in Christ. However I find myself shying away from "organized religion" due to the simple fact that it is nothing more than a political tool IMO. Too many religous groups want to shape government policy for my taste. There is a reason our forefathers wanted a separation of church and state. Unfortiunately that line has become blurred, almost nonexistant. I can see the human race evolving to a point where the principles are not as important, but not total useless.

During the mid 18th century, 1.9 % of England's wealth came from the slave trade. Did the church do anything about it ? We now and always have, lived in a dynamic world. Constant change for good or bad.

thank you dear!

I'm just thinking about those old ladies with the thin church "magazines", approaching everyone, so politely...their first question is: "do you like reading"? They seem so desperate, all of them have the same emotional approach(aparently); they look sweet, but they are equivalent to any begger whilst they are messengers of God! How wierd is that?

ive only read to here cris
but its an interesting question i suppose

as far as those ladies tho
its your perception

people that want to share what they see as good news
want to give you the gift of whatever it is they think they have found

so i dont think they are desperate unless they are desperate to share, and are often pushed aside

i think what may seem like they are desperate is the fact
that they are there at all trying to open that discussion
as it is often an invitation to be persecuted, so it cant be easy?

also if youve tasted the most wonderful cheesecake
dont you implore your friend to try it?
its like that

but i dont agree that is the most effective way to spread the message...

dunno
