If people are that concerned they can spend the 30.00 it costs to get a webcam...they are very affordable these days and well worth it to know who you are really conversing with!!!!!!

Children being raped is not a very nice thing either, I know a online dating site that shows a moderators profile. The pictures she has in her profile makes me very, very uncomfortable. There is one photo that will actually give me nightmares for ever. This is not a joke.angel

Timeshifter,your location is so if there are any matches in your area,if you have nothing to hide then why not? where I live,pop of 798 i have very few choices but I am not only on here for my search of my soul mate I have made very good online friends on here too,most people are so cool,so many different opinions,unreal and it also broadens my horizons for an open mind and makes me a lot more acceptable to others views,but like the lady said above me,stay with the devil you know I think she said,the least you can gain by these sites is an online friendship the most? your soul mate,at least we hope,good luck to youhead banger

Now in my opinion you are "attacking" a system which you chose to become involved in of your own accord ... nobody forces you to join any internet community of any kind ... You are free to leave anytime you choose ... for some people who are housebound for whatever reason, "online communities" are their only lifeline and contact with other humans ... YES one has to be careful ... YES one has to judge where to draw the line ... Exactely the same as when one goes out and or travels alone ... Danger can spring from anywhere ...

You are on exactely the same footing as everyone else on this site NOBODY knows if YOU are real anymore than you know if THEY/WE are real ...

Live and let live ... same as in real life ... if you don't like the "venue" go find another where you do feel comfortable ... cheers
