Maybe a good case for animal neglect.......

Too bad it's not so good a case for tresspassing........

Don't get yourself in trouble reguarding the canoe.......

See if you can come to some sort of an agreement with him where you agree to pay for the vet bills if he gets in the canoe without paddles and you send him down river......

This is a sad story......sigh

Don't you have free vet clinics? In the UK and Spain there are clinics which are free if you have found an animal in distress.

I realise you are an animal lover but the cat is not your responsibility.

Out of curiosity, what would you have done if you had been left to care for a very sick relative of his, would you feel so obligated?

I too love animals by the way so I'm not criticising, but I wouldn't let anybody do that to me however much I would feel bad about the consequences of returning the cat to him.

It sounds like a family of sociopaths to me. I too am an animal lover and nothing pisses me off more than to see or hear about cruelty to animals, children or the elderly. I can't believe the poor little kitty was someone's pet, too. His family doesn't believe in spending money on vet bills!! What the f*ck??? This makes me want to hunt these a**holes down and beat them to within an inch of their lives.

Sadly, most of the animal rescue organizations here only care for dogs. Nothing is free ... Nothing!

If I had not seen this kitty, it would not have affected me so strongly. This animal purrs louder than a motor boat and that is when he is feeling so poorly. He looks just like Garfield the cat and is so affectionate.

In a way, I am glad Gary can't get his hands on him now. My son (who is caring for the kitty because I don't know what disease he may have and I have two cats of my own) said if Gary get anywhere near the kitty, he will shoot Gary himself! Guess that animal love is hereditary.

No I would not feel the same towards humans or his relatives because they can get medical care for free. Animals depend on compassionate people to keep them alive.

It also sounds like this type of behavior is environmental and he's learned it from his family. He sounds like a twisted control freak...who cares for nobody but himself.

Burn the canoe...with him in it....and invite friends over to roast marshmallows.

He's friggin' waste of humanity. A load that should have been shot on a wall.

Sorry...I call it like I see it.

Assets,

Sweetie, much sympathy for your plight from here in East TN. I'm in a rural area, but still there are rescue agencies for "critter kids." Suggest you do an online search of cat and/or animal rescue in your area. Even the most remote areas of the country usually have SOME sort of animal rescue. Most of my extensive work with rescues involves dogs, but if you think I may be of help to you, feel free to send a personal email.

Thank GOD that you now know the true spirit (or lack thereof) of this "man."

Blessings sent to you in the name of ALL God's creatures!

You could chainsaw the canoe into about 3,927 pieces and sit it on his doorstep with a note that says
"My name is We're Even. I know I will have a good home here."

OMG, spoken like a true smart ass! I LOVE IT!! I am so glad I logged back on to see this suggestion. It would be worth it to do without the money just to get even.

I think I will use his own chainsaw to do it ... that's still here too.

I was just telling a friend on here ... tomorrow is the day the Vet diagnoses whether it will take more $$$$ than I can afford to keep him alive. I hate having to make such a decision based on money.

I will be glad when tomorrow is over.
