I am always looking for "The One". It's my focus in life, I look for her where ever I go. I want some one to cherish, to love, to hold. I want to give her everything and dedicate myself to her completely..

As long as she gets the hell out in the morning.devil angel

Lots of people on these date sites are misleading and in reality are using them as the local watering hole for discussion. Supposedly the purpose of these forums is to assist in people meeting so they can date and hook up. But, you can find a large number of people who simply come here to meet friends, kill time, and play. Lots are wasting time of people who are very seriously wanting to find a mate or simply a date. Maybe there should be a way to separate them in various discussions/meeting places...maybe filter out those looking for just friends or email ... possibly could apply to intimate encounters as many of us are actually hoping to find a serious relationship as our ultimate goal.

i totally agree with you mate, its very difficult to work out the ones who are serious from the ones who are just playing around until its too late.thumbs up

Kinda like real life huh?dunno

A separate forum for those who are supposedly "truly looking" wouldn't work, because that's where the scammers would go looking. You still wouldn't know.

All you can do is use your head, and don't let your emotional needs carry you away. And if something doesn't work out, well that's just life. That's how we live and learn. It's never too late, as long as you're using oxygen! hug

I didn't see the proposition as "limiting" the forums at all.
On the contrary, I saw it as expanding the forums by adding an additional category, and organizing them for easier access to the ones we think might interest us.

What I was getting at is a separate forum would only attract the people who think they are looking for a relationship when in fact many of them truly do not know what they want and will only "play" with you and never agree to even meet.

In the mean time a person who may think they are not interested in a relationship might avoid that forum and you will never discover that witty insightful one.

Well after a failed online relationship I decided to stay on the site although I was defenately NOT LOOKING anymore but because I enjoy the forums and the friends I had made here ...

One thing led to another and through developping a friendship with someone I liked very much as a person, I found "The someone" I had stopped looking for ... When we decided to meet face to face, we knew we would be at least great friends and in the future would like to work on some joint projects ... Then we met and the rest is history!!! applause

Let's face it if you don't like and respect someone at least as a friend ... what are the chances of a relationship working? That is not to say that a relationship would work with all the friends one makes ...

But I don't agree that this site is solely for seeking romantic relationships, friendship gained on the forums is fulfilling for many members.

I think the problem lies with the profiles, if someone is not looking for romance then that should be clear in the profile....as it is in mine, but many men who are looking for more than friendship choose to disregard that and then get stroppy when I write back to say sorry.....READ MY PROFILE.

Stroppy?? %D I've a few lately that were very nice enquiries as to "are you sure" or "would you reconsider" to very openly and honestly asking if I was at all interested...no tantrums or drama after drawing attention to profile, just a door left slightly ajar...nice, but alas, too far away...at any rate.

I totally disagree with u ... TOTALLY ...

thats how u get to know each other ... laughs and serousness ... it reveals ones thinking ... how they respond ... how they react ... the fun things ... the cute things ... the serious things ....

give me a LAP dance anytime over cobwebs in the library ....

sometimes people want something so serious and so quick ... they run away with Daisy Mae to end up hitch hiking back ....

GIVE ME THE LAP DANCE !!!!

I totally agree with you Jan
...all you have to do is READ ONES PROFILE
and those there are honest have it all mapped out.

A estimate of course
..but say there are 500 in total on site
ONLY 100 of them are in forum
...so again,its all in profile.

Notice after posting bamabab never posted reply.Kind of like when Gilly(God Bless him) starts a thread and you never see him again but others have hot and heavy opinions. On this 1 I'mhole cause if I comment I will stir the pot and not my nature to do so.Just thought it a tad odd that the OP didn't comment again.
