Who was your first love?

Who was your first love? How old were you? What was it like? What was special about it? What kinds of things did you do together? What became of it? Who ended it? How did you feel when it was over? Do you know where that person is now? If you had it to do over, would you? Would you do anything different? How was your first love different from your last?

I thought this might generate some reflection and interesting discussion. I'm fixin' to get ready for work Y'all have fun with it. I'll check back and post my own story later on. Enjoy.

I have never been in love...but my first crush was on Connie Francis and Annette Funicello. In real life, my first real crush was on Carmella Cirigliano. But since it was too hard to whisper her name in passion, I started dating Any Goldman!!!heart wings

Ohhhh this makes me laugh, how my values have changed!!! I was 17 and just starting my senior year in high school... I saw this incredible looking guy walking across the campus... I found out his name, where his classes were and just "happened" to keep running into him, he finally got the hint and asked me out.

We were such an incredibly conceited couplerolling on the floor laughing so concerned with our appearance, practicing dance moves, coordinating our wardrobes... We were voted senior class couple of the year, we always looked good, we were romantic and so into the whole thing. We agreed to wait until graduation night for me to lose my virginity, so it was 9 months of teasing and playing... what I put that poor boy throughblushing

On graduation night we got engaged and had se for the first time. We thought our futures were settled...my parents loved him, his loved me, we were the heart of the social scene in the little town we lived in. Three months later, I remember looking across the table at him and realizing that if I married him I would never see the outside of this town again. I ended the relationship and took a job that entailed traveling allover the states for 11 months of the year.

My first love was Robert Kimberlin. We were boyfriend and girlfriend for 3 1/2 years in high school. We did everything together.

I was 15 when I started going out with him and we stayed together til I broke it off, after I went to boot camp, in the Army after I graduated. He was sad, but he kept in touch with my parents. He's now happily married and has 3 kids now...Darn! If I had never went into the Army I'd still be there, but somebody had to move on and it was me. I got tired of Livingston, Tx.

My first love was boy named Cliff. We met sort of indirectly. I lived in a small town where the American Legion had a Saturday night dance every week for the kids. I went one night with my friend, Marcia. She met a boy there that she liked. She would always come to my house after school, and he would call her every afternoon while she was there. One day when they were talking, he put his friend, Cliff, on the phone and Marcia got me to talk to him. We really liked talking to each other, and Cliff started calling me every night. We lived in different towns and we didn't have cars (I was 15; he was 14), so it was quite some time before we actually met face to face. When we did, it was always with Marcia and Jack. We'd all hang out in Cliff's room, kissing and necking. That was about the extent of our dates. The relaionship was primarily by phone. It ended when my mom remarried and we moved to Colorado when her husband was stationed there in the Air Force. It was very difficult. You'd think, having been primarily a phone relationship, that it wold've been easy to get over, but it wasn't. I don't know where he is now, but I'm guessing North Carolina. That's where he was from originally and had moved back last I heard, but that was a long time ago.

The first person Iloved was a girl named Diane, and you know I still feel the same way about her now as I did then. . She married young and had just been divorced for about a year when we started dating. I have never met anyone before or since that made me feel the same way. She was an incredible young woman.

This question puts a smile on my face.. My first love was my friend Ray Gritton. We meet in college in Anatomy and Physiology class and he was my lab partner.I fell in love with him when we were waiting for our class to start and as it turn out we became lab partners and best of friends. We went out together and studied together, we attended parties together.we celebrate our birthday together. basically we did a lot together.. except anything physical.. yes that includes kissing. He was my best friend.. We lost contact when I went to another school and his family moved. 3 years later I heard he was getting married, and that was the saddest day of my life. That's when I knew I could never tell him how I felt. Who ever married him is the most luckiest woman in the world. He is a handsome man with a beautiful mind and heart. Who could ask for more. And now he is still the very handsome man who is loved and respected by his patients and nurses. How I wished I could go back 19 years and tell him that I love him too instead of getting mad at him for being drunk at a party. Yes one night he was buzz and started to say how much he loves me.. Knowing he was buzz, I couldn't take that seriously. So instead of staying with him at the party, I left. Until now I still think of him..... kiss

My first love was Dustin. He was an out of towner from Kansas spending the summer at a boy's Christian Ranch run by the church I went to. He was illiterate. I spent that summer teaching him how to read and he spent it teaching me how to ride a horse. He tied me to a tree with fishing line and I've never been quite the same sense. I boohoo'ed for months after he left at the end of the summer. I saw him about 5 years later and he was running his own ranch. 10 years after that he had entered the national rodeo circuit. A few years ago I saw him on some sports channel at a national rodeo. I had 2 thoughts: "I wonder if he remembers me", and "I can't believe I dated a cowboy."

I fell hard for a boy named Troy...He was 21 and I was 19 and never even had a date before. He was a loner that was quite and mysterious...played guitar and listened to music most of the time. Well I was astounded when he paid attention to me...I was artistic and travelling around back-packing so we ended up hanging out together and shooting the breeze....We even cut our fingers together so we could be joined in blood...
I loved him more than life at that time...or thought I did...well he had a deeper nature than most realised and his depression grew darker...In the end he rode his motorcycle into a tree...I know it was a purposeful act as he left me the saddest note I still have and read it when I feel down...amazingly it makes me realise how lucky I am...I miss his friendship even to this day.
Well to cut to the chase...married a dickhead on the rebound...that fizzled before it started and never been in love since....
I am certain of love though and know it is there for me when the time is right...

First love, high school, still friends, but glad we didn't marry..our goals ended up being very different.

Second love, in college, did marry him, was married 25+ years, good man with
some good traits, is the father of my two children, but again he & did not have the same goals..

Third love, my last love for sure, for this one is my soulmate, the one put on this earth for just me...my new hubby Earl..

I've learned you can have many loves throughout life, but perhaps only one soulmate..I'm blessed to have mine in my life now..and hopefully we will have many many happy healthy memorable years together...Seems a shame we found each other at this time of our lives...but even more the shame would have been had we not found each other at all..I Love You Babylips

Thanks Claire, you know I hadn't thought about that in years and I really had to laugh, at the time we thought we were so deep and emotional but the reality is we were incredibly shallow.

After I had my daughter something triggered in my body and I continued to gain weight after the pregnancy, regardless of exercise or diet and my older brother said something to me that some of my friends didn't like but which I found to be a complement. He said that it was a good thing that I had gained weight because I actually had to develop a personality and if I lost the weight and kept the personality then I would be the whole package.

I went on to have a hysterectomy when I was 35 which triggered another change in my body and since then I have been slowly losing weight, the package still has a bit to much "wrapping" but I have to admit that I'm much happier with whats inside.

Actually, that was Zarah that said that. I won't disagree, but am not in a place right now where I'm inclined to comment further.
