sometimes I wonder if those who speak so loudly for these disease infested ,drought plagued countries would walk away from their current lifestyle ...no not just for a year but for life if it would save 2 people from that country that is in peril of devastation. how many will yes how many believe that 10 saved form that country is a more acceptable sacrifice... whats the number it would take for you to sacrifice your lifestyle??? I mean you all doing a good job berating me cause i cannot afford it.

The Money spent running that Body could be better spent by dirctly applying it to the Troubled Spot on this Earth,educating people,instead of creating Jobsecurity for the thousands of People working for the UN.
All we are doing now is providing a Job for these People without much results being shown.
These United Nations need a serious Shakeup to become Efficient/Cost-Effective.

regardless of the way the united nations is run there should be a united nations task force section set up just for that purpose ...and set up NOW !

that task force should consist of soldiers from all over the world .....it is that task force that should have gone into iraq burma kenya and zimbawae

nobody else



and the decision to go into these places taken and voted on by all members of the united nations



the trouble is we live in a very selfish world with very selfish small minded people that don't care what's happening in other parts of the world untill it either benifits them or starts to badly affects them !

what type of world and people does that leave us with ?

Except they usually vote against such actions in the UN General Assembly or it is getting Vetoed in the UN Security Council.
Then if a Country is getting fed up and goes to unilaterally enforce the UN-Resolutions these same DO-Nothings and Vetoers are in the forefront with their Condemnations.
