I am having trouble with Hillary's glib remarks at times.

I quote.....'pantsuit running the white house' and 'not one day longer'. Sure it is funny. But this next fours years are really critical to our country and the world. Sure it gets attention and maybe some votes and keeps her main voting block of women solid behind her.

But seems to me we (American)...or maybe the political process has let this become a popularity contest. Fine, she has new ideas and wants change. Tell me where the change is, why it is better, how do we do it.
Give me the facts as best you know them to be. I want substance, not giggles.

There was a old circus man by the name of PT Barnum...his motto was....a fool is born every minute. I am not saying the we (the American voters) are being foolish in desiring change. Am saying we are being foolish unless we know what that change is.

This is not about politics for me. Rather getting the American public to understand...that unless you understand the candidate's platform......you might be placing your vote (support) in the wrong place.

Dig in with solid research and ask the tough questions of them all, is my best advice.

Do any of you know anything about the Council on Foreign Relations? (CFR) The CFR was founded in 1921 in order to build a "network of globalist support groups."

The CFR is highly influential because its membership includes high- ranking politicians. Among them are Senators and Congressmen, some of whom are running for President in 2008. In addition, there are high- ranking politicians who have connections with the CFR (and are thereby influenced by it), even though they are not members of it.

In 2005, the CFR produced a Task Force Report which was published as a book with the title "Building a North American Community." (You can get the book at http://www.cfr.org/publication/8102/building_a_north_american_community.html)

According to the Foreword, the CFR Task Force offers detailed proposals that are based on the "Texas summit of March 2005." This was a meeting that President Bush held at his ranch with President Vicente Fox of Mexico and Prime Minister Paul Martin of Canada. After that meeting, the three heads of state issued a press release announcing that they had made an agreement to form the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP).

The Foreword also says that the "central recommendation" of the report is the establishment of a "North American economic and security community" by the year 2010. The identity would be trinational, rather than national. We would lose our national sovereignty.

We can expect the recommendations of the CFR to be taken seriously, because many of the Democrats and Republicans who are running for President in 2008 are either members of the CFR, or else have ties with it. In addition, others are globalists, and the CFR is a globalist organization. (The following information comes from the "US Presidential Candidate Fact Sheet" of Hope for the World, Summer, 2007. The research was done by Gary Kah and Carl Teichrib.)

DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATES

Joe Biden is President Emeritus of the Council on Foreign Relations.

Hillary Clinton was a guest speaker at the CFR. In addition, her husband founded the Clinton Global Initiative. Both Clintons are strongly globalist.

Christopher Dodd is a member of the CFR.

Al Gore has been a speaker at the CFR and appears to be generally supportive of the organization. There is no definitive CFR membership information, but many secondary sources present him as being a member.

Mike Gravel doesn't appear to be a CFR member, but he is strongly globalist.

Dennis Kucinich is not a member of the CFR, but he is strongly globalist.

[color=red]Barack Obama
's wife Michelle is the director of the Chicago Council on Global Affairs. (This is the Chicago branch of the CFR, but under a different name.) Barack Obama has spoken at the CFR in Washington, DC and at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs.

Bill Richardson is a member of the CFR.

REPUBLICAN CANDIDATES

Sam Brownback doesn't have any connections with the CFR.
Neither does Jim Gilmore.

Newt Gingrich is a member of the CFR. He is also a 33rd degree Mason.

Rudi Giuliani has given presentations to the CFR. The law firm that he works with (Bracewell & Giuliani) is directly involved with the NAFTA superhighway program.

Mike Huckabee doesn't have any substantial connections with the CFR or other globalist organizations.

Duncan Hunter has consistently voted against globalist free trade programs.

John McCain is a member of the CFR.

Ron Paul is the founder of the Liberty Committee. He has consistently opposed globalism.

Mitt Romney isn't connected with the CFR.

Tom Tancredo isn't connected with the CFR. He has taken a strong stand on securing our borders.

Fred Thompson is a member of the CFR. According to the US Presidential Candidate Fact Sheet, he may not be as conservative as he appears.

Tommy Thompson isn't connected with the CFR.

And while they are thinking...

They need to think about this too!!! professor

Relating to my previous post here:

Globalism is an approach to politics that sees individual countries as being "states" in a global government. One approach would be to have something comparable to the United Nations govern the world. Another approach would be to have every nation become part of something comparable to the European Union.

Actually, I think Obama is more genuine and has more integrrity than Hillary by far. As far as on the Republican side I thibnk Huckabee is the most genuine.

Hear are a few of the changes I think (but am 100% sure) she is for:

1) Dismantling or altering of the foreign wire tapping
program of the NSA

It is the one intell gather means that really works. It gives up
evidence and operations of the terror cells.

She sees it as a invasion of privacy on the American citizen. So she is either going to court regulate it some much that it will untimely intell or
do away with it. Either way we become blind again.

2) Reduction of military spending. If she is going to bring new social
services and national health insurance into the country. She has
to find the money someplace. DoD budget is the biggests. The
hatchet start there I think.

Let say we did not have terrorism and just had Nation States to consider. Both Russia and China have been doing vast military
spending and military modernization programs. Yes, we have the edge right now. But cut DoD for a prolonged period of time. And you can lose it.

3) Negotiation vs active intervention of terrorism on foreign soils

This is just one of those gut level feelings, I have with Hillary. That with
her withdrawl from Iraq also comes a hand off order to invene in foreign terrorism. I think that she feels we can talk with the government of a foriegn country and ask them to take care of the problem. Go to the Lebanon gov't and tell them Hamas is launching
rockets into Isreal again. Ask them to end it.

I think that she is going to be very 'politically correct' about this. About
invention in a foreign country where terrorism is sprouting up.

JMO would like to read others that have either heard or know her positions here.

I Lived in Australia for 2 yrs. And have traveled alot of the world. In Australia they have combined a part Democratic government and PArt socialist, it is not perfect, but it does work! NO ONE IS HOMELESS unless they chose to be!! Everyone is taking care of! If they lose their job, ( FIRED,layed off, Quit) they dont have to worry about Unemployment running out!! they are taken care of! And the Citizens RUN the country, it is not controlled soley by the Government, I saw many protests that had a huge effect everytime they didn agree with something.

I know We ARE THE GREATEST COUNTRY hands down, but until more of see the rest of the world and really see how different types of Government can help, we should be careful for accepting what we have always been told is right!

We need Change!! I say First and formost stop POLICING THE REST OF THE WORLD AND TAKE CARE OF OUR OWN !! Really great message! I wish more americans experienced them selves how people live in another countries and they stopped thinking some more taxes and instead enjoying a much safer life for them and their families, is some thing evil!

Before you see the rest of the world your self you will have no idea a bout the facts!

Both systems Socialism and Capitalism are not perfect and there are a lot issues in both systems which can result in devistating situations for countries.......but! To gether and as a combination with best things from both systems people can live much more relaxed and basic needs of human beings will not be respected only for the richer ones!

In CNN see the program called "A broken Government" It is a bout health care system in America Or the movie John Q with Denzel Washington....these are not made by Michael Moore whom right winged see as devil him self because he critisize the way americans "HAVE" to live their lives! I think the movie "Sikho" shows the facts even better but oak I know Michael Moore makes many americans angry so ............

Wish better times for your country and wish reforms over there which can be felt deeply and profoundly different than ever before!

For all that i have been following , i like Obama .. as someone mentioned he is vert composed and charismatic.

I was wondering something and would be happy if someone would answer this for me .. What do u think would be the best move in todays times to stop the ongoing decline in the American economy and who of the candidates seems to fit the bill ?

Hi Riva, nice to see you back again. I agree with your assessment of Obama. He does seem genuine and of the two (Obama & Clinton) I would choose him in a heartbeat. However, his political philosophy just doesn't set with mine so I would be leaning towards McCain. To me, he seems more apt to reach across the aisle and get more cooperation between the two major parties as opposed to being too far to the left or right. Hillary.... Well, I want to keep this positive so I'll say no more about her.

As for your question. I could guess but I will qualify that guess by saying I am a person that knows very little about economic policy, Anyway, the simplistic view and what I think is the most important, is to control the size and spending habits of the government. Everyday I see waste, abuse and on some ocassions out and out fraud. There seems to be no end to this and we spend like there's a bottomless pit of money. I would also not allow the current tax rates to be changed and would keep the current tax cuts on the books. Also, we need to find a way to cut energy cost and the best way to do that is to find alternative sources.

OK, that's my .02. Be well
