It was on this day in history that a group of "Beetles" invaded the United States. The invasion took place in New York City on something called The Ed Sullivan Show.

I remember it well and the invasiuon brought many years of enjoyment to many and some of us "Old Farts" cherish those memories..

applause cheering peace yay

Man you are old....rolling on the floor laughing

I don't mind a Beatle's tune here and there, I like the White album the best, the early stuff was a little too popish for my taste. But good none the less.

I remember seeing them on the show. Before the a friend said he had the beetle record and asked me if I wanted to here it, at that time I thought he was talking about bugs and did not know why I would want to listen to bugs on a record.

Stones were great until around 1980, after that they stink. The Kinks are way cool always...

My birthplace too but only John Lennon has made an impression on me. Now the seventies I remember well, but the music wasn't too great!

THAT's why i just can't get this Tune out of my head today.

The Beatles

Something in the way she moves
Attracts me like no other lover
Something in the way she woos me
I don't want to leave her now
You know I believe, and how

Somewhere in her smile she knows
That I don't need no other lover
Something in her style that shows me
Don't want to leave her now
You know I believe, and how

You're asking me will my love grow
I don't know, I don't know
You stick around now it may show
I don't know, I don't know

Something in the way she knows
And all I have to do is think of her
Something in the things she shows me
Don't want to leave her now
You know I believe, and how

Those were the Days...........
sigh thumbs up cool

What a flashback.See diffrent spellings here.It is Beatles.I was 9 when they were on Ed Sullivan. Was allowed to stay up for it.I fell in love with paul for years. That wa the beginning of the british invasion and good music. Our US groups were good too, butThe Brits has some great music.I liked early stones,of course I was in to pop,not any heavy rock.Wow remember the day I got album Hard days Night, never saw movie.Did get to see Help.I remember the beatle boots and parents ccomplaining about the long hair on beatles.Times sure change.
