Eugenics-The Future of Humans?

Eugenics is a social philosophy which advocates the improvement of human hereditary traits through various forms of intervention. Throughout history, eugenics has been regarded by its various advocates as a social responsibility, an altruistic stance of a society, meant to create healthier and more intelligent people, to save resources, and lessen human suffering.

Eugenicists would like a lowered population, science and techs for the favoured only. Including genetic engineering and generally the dumping of 'inferior' humans...which from the looks of things means .. the poor mostly, but also the less able. Yes a super race.

Frankly I am appauled, not only by the inference but by the actual work that is going on. For some this only means, screening and birth control, but it goes far beyond any consideration for humans as a whole for the people who push this philosophy, and really seems quite selfish and money driven (yes like most things).

While I think there is wisdom in appropriate birth rates, and the advancement of science; I wonder why there are people who feel that they have a god given right to decide for the human race as a whole.

What are your thoughts on eugenics and its morality?

Huntington's disease runs in my ex-wife's family, SOmetimes the end can justify the means, I wouldn't mind living in a world where we no longer have to watch loved ones suffer slowly and die young.

A world where there's enough food and resources to go around doesn't sound that bad either.

From an alternative view, if you believe in the possibility of reincarnation, there would be the possibility of experiencing a world with all the bumps smoothed out generations from now.

Then again a perfect world would most likely be boring.

To sum up.. I'm more concerned with paying my mortgage than I am about eugenics, just wanted to throw my 2 cents in.

peace

From what I have read, the brainiacs, the rich, and the powerful, Trish. They feel human evolution is too slow and that merging humans with genetics and techs will give them eternal youth. Maybe not god, but certainly playing god.

If they had their way, none. The techs that are actually available now are beyond what us ' the common man ' gets to experience.

Just as an example, Sony and MS have the next 5 to 10 generations of equipment already for production, They hold off until you spend your money on what is current. When that product reaches low sales, they haul out the next gen as if they just came up with it.

High Definition TV was available around 1989 but not made a cunsumer product until I think 2003.

Just an explaination of how far science and tech is that we are unaware of.

Actually I think thats what they're hoping, that you keep your concern over the mortage and don't bother with the serious stuff.

Some good points though, unless of course you're the one with the desease and I think thats where man's sensitivity to man should come in. Cure it yes .. extinguish the person... no.

I'd give you change but I don't have anything smaller than a nickle.

peace

I know they had low energy light bulbs years before the public were allowed to buy them - but I guess everyone accepts that the tobacco companies knew for yrs what they were doing too - this world is rife with corruption sigh

the way things seem to me is that they will keep a majority of the poor as worker drones - besides, if they kill off the richer folks - there will be more for them grin

There's a heirarchy that sees it not as corruption but necessary for man to evolve. Thats the scary part.

Bill Gates and his buddy Warren Buffet (think thats his name) gave over $50 mill to planned parenthood, an arm of eugenics. Maybe they just care?

While I understand the wisdom of stopping the stupidity of some baby factory humans on this planet, I would be remiss in wanting what eugenicists want on a larger scale. To separate wisdom from righteousness is not something eugenics subscribes to. (from my observations)

I was reading about this yesterday.

By identifying so-called "defective" family trees and subjecting them to legislated segregation and sterilization programs. The victims: poor people, brown-haired white people, African Americans, immigrants, Indians, Eastern European Jews, the infirm and really anyone classified outside the superior genetic lines drawn up by American raceologists. The main culprits were the Carnegie Institution, the Rockefeller Foundation and the Harriman railroad fortune, in league with America's most respected scientists hailing from such prestigious universities as Harvard, Yale and Princeton, operating out of a complex at Cold Spring Harbor on Long Island. The eugenic network worked in tandem with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the State Department and numerous state governmental bodies and legislatures throughout the country, and even the U.S. Supreme Court. They were all bent on breeding a eugenically superior race, just as agronomists would breed better strains of corn. The plan was to wipe away the reproductive capability of the weak and inferior.

Ultimately, 60,000 Americans were coercively sterilized — legally and extra-legally. Many never discovered the truth until decades later. Those who actively supported eugenics include America's most progressive figures: Woodrow Wilson, Margaret Sanger and Oliver Wendell Holmes.

American eugenic crusades proliferated into a worldwide campaign, and in the 1920s came to the attention of Adolf Hitler. Under the Nazis, American eugenic principles were applied without restraint, careening out of control into the Reich's infamous genocide. During the pre-War years, American eugenicists openly supported Germany's program. The Rockefeller Foundation financed the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute and the work of its central racial scientists. Once WWII began, Nazi eugenics turned from mass sterilization and euthanasia to genocidal murder. One of the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute doctors in the program financed by the Rockefeller Foundation was Josef Mengele who continued his research in Auschwitz, making daily eugenic reports on twins. After the world recoiled from Nazi atrocities, the American eugenics movement — its institutions and leading scientists — renamed and regrouped under the banner of an enlightened science called human genetics.

The german scientists at the time, praised the American scientist, from whom they had learned from. The Nazi's learned it from the U.S.

Research has continued to progress in this area and the Elite are intent in carrying out their plan.

I think it is very selfish for anyone to think they are better than anyone else. Their plan will bring forth the greatest Hollocaust the world has ever known. It is absolutely sickening. I am extremely troubled by this plan. There are many higherups in our government and other positions, those seeking "Globalism" and the "New World Order", who are among these sick creatures. Wake Up people... And Beware!

---sounds as if they should start eliminating themselves first--- evolution- through natural selection is something we have fucked up --- look at all the species we have destroyed already--- and of course your above mentioned has its tentacles spread across all areas of society - I feel within the near future - say 80yrs --- "The State" will remove the facade and the baby making facilities will actually ,be just that

I agree with you Cusp... just wondering what happens in the years preceeding the 80??? They must decrease the population somehow. They've tried it before on a large scale, actually, in smaller scales, it continues all over the world... genocide is hard at work.

thumbs up

--- economics - we have just experienced 10yrs of solid economic growth
China has been consuming raw materials and spitting out even more short lived products than Japan in the 60s

the next recession, in stages- will really be world wide-with-- the poor being hit the hardest

the next sign will be --- when the price of gold sustains $US1000 - and its pretty close to it now
