Excuse me, but I have to disagree with your post.

The site caters for 22 different categories, for example:

Dating and Relating
Single Parenting
Religion, etc etc

Jokes and Humor is one of the said categories, thus the site caters for silly threads.

I wouldn't want to meet anybody who's serious all the time, as life will get boring. Humour is part of the package called LIFE.

Personally, if I see a thread that does not interest me, I'll just ignore it. And to be honest, I prefer being called immature than getting involved in serious threads, which 50% of the time are transformed into battlefields!! That's what I'd call immature and banal.

I welcome and respect your opinion on this thread,and yes they do cater for all the categories stated. Jokes and humour are a part of LIFE,the world would be a sadder place without some laughs along the way.
But don't think that's what the original post referred to. There are thousands of sites that cater for humour and many of the other categories stated. Think what she was referring too was this is a dating site,and only a small percentage of the threads refer to relationships. Something very evident surfing through some of the Q's posed. I may be wrong....usually am!

I think some ppl have become a little offended because the lighter hearted threads have been referred to as 'juevinile' and ref made to grammer and spelling. This is an International Forum and for some English is not there first language, and it takes a certain amount of courage to post.

Surely it does not mean that ppl who get enjoyment from the humourous posts are excluded to finding friendship and love that way ?

As previously stated some of the more serious thread can become heated and persoanl. Surely this is more likely to put people of partcipating ?

Yes, you're right, the site is called Connecting Singles, and its is a dating site as stated on the top left hand corner of each page.

Regarding the threads, by going through them, you can take notice of the character of somebody that has caught your eye. This will help you to decide if you're to contact this person or not.

Btw if you go through some of the profiles, you'll find that there are people here just for the forums, to make friends, pen pals, etc etc. Thus not everybody is here to find his/her match.

Personally, the immature and banal monikers bothered me, otherwise I would not have replied to this thread.

reason? a new member judging and complaining?
sure they are free to do so, as anyone is at any time
but it is a red flag in life, for me,
to see that kind of arrogance and gall,
to arrive somewhere, a job, a class, a new friendship
and immediately beginning to judge, opine and attempt to regulate, or show the err of ways in that environment.
