Sad thing is,these 90% you're quoting are not very vocal about how displeased they are about the Actions of their Brethren.

Conrad, I thought the impression was 'wake up' america. Crudely worded but ...

aside from the rather narrow assault in those comments, most americans, that I know, save a few here in the forums are the least bit interested in whats going on beyond face value... there's a 'what can I do?' mentality, in my own experience of course.

As one of those soldiers, I appreciate your support.

But the nasty nature and blatant ignorance in which you post serves only to make you look childish, racist and frightfully uninformed. Try finding something, anything that proves Obama is a Muslim. Please, prove me wrong.

If Clinton or Obama being elected results in people like you leaving the country then I would say at least there was some good that came from either of them entering the white house.

By the way, How do you know how big Bill and Hillary's penis' are? barfing

I've stayed out of this until now and as soon as I speak my piece, I'll be out of it again. Having said that...

You really want to know what's wrong with us Americans?

We're too damned nice! We've spent millions of dollars and souls baling out the rest of the world whether they wanted it or not. And then stood back and turned the other cheek when we were told how damned stupid we were for lending a helping hand. That's part of the problem!

But mostly - as a country - we lack humility and we lack the perspective that distance gives a person. And we're proud! Case in point: (And I'm willing to bet that nearly everyone else here has had a similar experience!)

Several years ago, one of my brothers, who was living in Idaho at the time, was having some personal problems. Believe me, I was quick with unsolicited advice; I told him to do this, this and this and asked why he hadn't done this, that and/or the other. It was easy to offer the advice because I had the clarity of perspective from a distance.

Six months later, when I found myself in almost exactly the same situation, it was a whole different damned story! I didn't know what the hell to do or where to turn and I darn sure didn't want anyone else telling me how to solve my problems. After all, I'd handled everything that had come my way to that point and taken care of other people's problems as well, and I'd done it damn near my whole life! I was invincible!

...Except that I wasn't... I lacked humility and I lacked the perspective of distance. But I was still strong. So rather than actually volunteer to help, others stood at a distance and gave advice which I was in no mood to listen to. I eventually recovered on my own, but it took a heavy dose of humility and looking at myself through the eyes of others to make it happen.

I'm still quick to offer a helping hand - whether it's wanted or not - but I no longer believe myself to be invincible. And that makes me even stronger.

We Americans, as individuals, are deeply humble. But our government is not, although I believe we could remedy that with a few well placed butt kickings. Will we? Probably not until it's damn near too late. But we will get through this! And ya' know what? I still can't think of anywhere I'd rather live or any place I'd rather swear allegiance to than the good ol' USA!

Have fun ya'll - I've got a country to enjoy!

thumbs up

conversing President Bush got re-elected after a war? hmmm during a war that he created for his own gain, lining his pockets and his buddies pockets......driving prices of everything from milk to gas sky high....unfortunately, our soldiers are so scattered over lands that are not our own, and probably not even our business, that if we do get attacked, we are screwed....better plan on leaving the country as you stated.......

AMERICA IS READY FOR A change...

btw, you need practice in spelling as well as in coloring......

Ok, I've held my tongue long enough. 22 pages of people bickering back and forth like 2 kids arguing over a comic book. Instead of doing this stupid sh*t for days on end, why don't you start a recycling center in your area, help the homeless, make care packages to send to the soldiers, donate to a battered womens shelter, volunteer at the local ASPCA or read a f*cking book!

"Hey Sheep, don't believe everything you read on the net."

Obama isn't a Muslim and never was. He went to a school that had a Mosque or some crap next door or in the same building.

The person standing next to Obama put her hand on her heart before he did the video.......Period!

The only thing I do agree with here, is that we don't have decent choices. Sooooo, I think I'll sit this one out and just not vote.

Quit wasting your energy people! This is all of mine that you'll get.

Take Care

Love you all..........................hug

Today is a good day for the war to come to an end.

Even if this particular war is over, you will be confronted with terrorism, suicide bombings, insurrections and civil war somewhere on the planet, and nuclear threats from U.S.-labeled "rogue" nations like North Korea and Iran. Violence will still be raging out of control, no matter what day you read these words.

At the outset of 2003 it was estimated that thirty military conflicts were being fought around the world. It's a good day for all these wars to come to an end. But will they? And if they do, what will replace them?

To end war, you have to think of ending not just one conflict, and not just thirty. What we have to end is the idea of war, which has turned into the habit of war and then into the numbing constancy of war.

Like any habit, war has worn a groove in our minds, so that when we become very afraid or very angry, the response of war comes naturally. It has an easy track to follow.

We reach for war the way a chain-smoker reaches for a cigarette, muttering all the while that we have to quit.

We need to erase the groove and substitute a new way to respond when we are very afraid or very angry, or even when we aren't. The way of peace has to become a new habit.
