jb, I'm not sure who you meant here.
If you meant I am trying to state rumors and innuendo as fact, I'll be more than happy to back up anything I've claimed.

No GNDM, you know I would never imply anything with you, I have way to much respect for your intelligence... even though we don't always agree. I was referring to the same post you were, and agreeing with you.

Don't you just love Snope... refreshing to have a site that lists several sources for their info.

Laughed my way through this thread, and then rusty was the icing on the cake. Thanks for posting such a clear example of the overwhelming ignorance, not to mention arrogance of those OUTSIDE THE US WHO DON'T REALLY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT!

And anyone who hasn't heard what Obama's cousin is up to lately, sure hasn't done their homework before popping off in here. Many other comments also prove a lack of understanding of the Islamic religion and their tactics.

Will never vote for this one. Way too many reasons, from the black soulless eyes, to the disrespect for the country, to the lack of experience, and then top it off with all the lies he has been busted in...hell no.

You may wish to be careful when calling others ignorant. Your knowledge of the United State's political system would not win you any prize money if you were a contestant on "Are you smarter than a 5th grader" Unless of course you had assistance from a 5th grader. Unfortunately, the idea of a 5th grader assisting you would probably bring forth the same arrogance you accuse others of having which would result in you ignoring the wise counsel of that 5th grader thus failing to win any money.

I suspect if you were less emotional and concentrated more on fact your posts would sound more logical. At the moment they sound like fear of things you clearly don't understand.

This isn't a flattering post I know. But I have always believed one should treat others the way they wish to be treated. Since you're almost always rude towards others I came to the conclusion that this is the way you wished to be treated.

Believe it or not and sadly...Many whites are still just way too racist!

However: if you dont believe what was at the begining of this thread.. why post it and plant seeds of doubt?

He has my vote............. and I dont give a sh&^ what anyone thinks!

If HE proves me wrong later down the line, OH WELL!
then I will fit in with all of thoses that voted for Bush... whom are mostly ashamed to admit now that they did.

It is very difficult to know what the truth is because we tend to be spoon fed by the media.. and we tend to believe what we read.. as long as it is presented in a persuasive format..

What concerns me most about this bloke is that he seems to have come from nowhere... how? and why?... how does someone rise from relative obscurity to being the possible next presedent of a world power.. now if I'm wrong.. please correct me.. but that's the impression I get...

It also seems to me that US elections are run on propaganda and fuelled by ignorance as to candidates manifesto and objectives... what relevance does religion colour or creed have to running a country please tell me... what matters is a persons policies, objectives and proven political record.... I am not a US citizen, but if I were to vote it would be Clinton.. mainly because she has shown herself to be a competent intelligent person with a political past to base opinion on...

You make some good points. We must verify information and research to discover truth. Hopefully, more people are doing this than just believing a pretty speech. It would also be nice to see people really get into the beliefs, policies, etc.. of their candidates rather than concentrating on curb appeal, color, sex etc. We are not even close to getting beyond some of these things which we are reminded of every time we turn on our televisions.

It does seem as though Obama came from nowhere but if you think about it so have many others. Bill Clinton, Ronald Reagan, Jimmy Carter and the current President to name just a few were not well know nationally until they hit the campaign trail. They may have been in their respective offices longer than Obama but not known that well nationally.

There were exceptions this year though. Hillary Clinton was well known because she was a first lady but has not much more experiance as a Senator than Obama. John McCain has been around for a long time and his background is easy enough to look up and John Edwards was well know because of his bid for Pres and later Vice Pres during the 2004 elections.

im so tired of the ignorance in america and im american
so are many here on CS that currently live outside the US
and guess what?

the ratio of those that vote is higher than those in the US
that do vote

the gaul to be a rumour monger and then state rumours as fact
is just absolutely embarrassing to me

because someone said it at the bar or its on youtube
(which was actually cited as a source on
a prominent news show 2 days ago)
i mean how ridiculous is that?

people love rumours that back up their own bigotry
and are so lazy they are grateful for reasonable sounding rumours
so they dont have to actually look into anything themselves.

thats mob mentality

shameful

well i think what people dont realize is that its exactly
that type of behavior and laziness that gives the world that impression-some of the world has little respect for us
and for good reason.

we can be rash and big mouthed
which is handy for sticking a foot in...

we have put politicians in place that have done this
on the world stage

i am not a basher of my own country
i am a patriot
a true patriot is not in denial
everything that has been good and forward moving in this country has come taken place because awareness and willingness to work for change came to bear on a situation or a circumstance
sometimes that has meant war, or social programs or
appropriate resistance in our own country.

lincoln
truman
fdr
jfk

these were all presidents willing and respected for
calling a spade a spade and encouraging us as a group
to roll up our sleeves, take off our blinders and get off our butts

not like so many that have said
oh dont worry, we'll handle it
you people just stay busy applying for unemployment
and not watching hearings where we lie
and chase those electronic gadgets
we'll be over here takin care of you,
dont worry (*pat on the head*)

america was not meant to be a few 'adults'
leading a nation of 'children'

thats a dictatorship, or communism
is that what america wants?
it seems so if you look at the percentage of votership
in the last 2, 3, 4 elections-
just presidential...the local turn outs is beyond sad.

stand up america
dont sit here and rant
go vote

D'oh!

this is not to endorse or deny any particular candidate

Read this article from Obama on foreign policy. Seems to me that he has a profound understanding of the foreign policy and national security crises facing the United States, and his strategy seems sound and coherent.

Probable U.S. Candidate, Barack Hussein Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Barack Hussein Obama Sr., a black muslim from Nyangoma-Kogel, Kenya and Ann Dunham, a white Atheist from Wichita, Kanas.
Obama's parents met at the University of Hawaii. When Obama was 2 years old his parents divorced. His father returned to Kenya.
His mother then married Lolo Soetoro, a radical Muslim from Indonesia.
When Obama was 6 years old, the family relocated to Indonesia.
Obama attended a Muslim school in Jakarta. He also spent 2 years in a Catholic school.
Obama takes great care to conceal the fact he is a Muslim. He is quick to point out that, "He was a Muslim, but that he also attended Catholic school."

Obama's political handlers are attempting to make it appear that Obama's introduction came via his father, and that this influence was temporary at best. In reality, the senior Obama returned to Kenya soon after the divorce, and never again had any direct influence over his son's education.
Lolo Soetoro, the 2nd husband of Obama's mother, Ann Dunham, introduced his Stepson to Islam. Obama was enrolled in a Wahabi school in Jakarta. Wahabism is the radical teaching that is followed by the Muslim terrorist who are waging Jihad against the Western world.
Since it is polically expedient to be a Christian when seeking major public office in the United States, Barack Hussein Obama has joined the United Church of Christ to downplay his Muslim background.
Let us all remain alert concerning Obama's expected presidential candidacy.
The Muslims have said they plan on destroying the U.S. from the inside-out, what better way to start than at the highest level-through the president of the U.S., one of their own!!! Also keep in mind that when he was sworn into office, he did not use the Holy Bible, but instead used the Kuran. Would you want this man leading our country?
Not me!!!

Like I said this came from the right!

Here's my opinion:
Sorry, but this is just the kind of racist propaganda that makes me wanna blow chunks. There's alot of similarities between Islam, Christianity, and Judaism. They have lived together for centuries in disharmony & harmony, not unlike the rest of the world. They are all monotheistic religions who worship the same deity,& share the same reverence for the books of the Old Testament. The Muslim extremist who advocate for Jihad are not representative of Islam as a whole: one could draw a parallel from Muslim extremist to the Christian extremest who blow up abortion clinics and kill people to support pro-life stances.
All of this information is taken out of context. Any serious scholarship of Obama should a different perspective (to an unbiased person) than the one this B.S. has conveyed.
I am not naive! The evil that drives Bin Laden & others like him poses a deadly threat that should be taken seriously; but, if we allow fear to manifest itself in predjudice (which leads to hate), we are feeding the evil, not fighting it. This fight dwells in a spiritual realm as well as the material one. As to the material world, if you want to better understand the conflict between Islam & Christianity, I encourage you to read some literature on the Crusades for it is there you will find the genisis of it.
All apologies to any perceived indiscretions but I felt compelled to a blatant smear job that does nothing more than play on prejudice & fear.

speaking from personal experience

being sound and coherent is often rejected

its not emotional enough
people dont quite 'get it' oft times
maybe we have come to believe nothing can be simple-
but i prefer to live simply
clarity only requires washing out the muck...

but sometimes people like muck-
dont have to take sides then
or get off the couch...

Hi Mindful.....i'll second you on that !!!......

.....but before you can wash out the muck.....you have to be conscious of it first......and unfortunately a vast part of the human race are unconsciously walking this earth with their thinking for themselves mode option switched off....they were duped into this malfunction during childhood with a big help from the education systems that are implemented in most countries....gullibly drinking any information right or wrong that is fed to them....not questioning the who's, what's, why's and how's.....
this is just where the big machines of our society likes them to be.....so much easier to rule and manipulate when the masses are huddles on their sofas in fear !

....the couch is a very safe place for fearful people to hang out.....and as long as they feel or think that they are safe, they will continue to stay there oblivious to the catastrophic events that the planet is hurtling towards.....and when it gets there....there won't be a safe sofa in sight !

So let you and me have a little toast to clarity
