No.. people can be nice even but IM's can just turn out to be a pain ..

More so when people are very persistent and quite annoying as many people have already mentioned before.

So it does make us miss out on the good ones .. yes .. but then theres always mail and flowers !! Ermmmm ... i get flowers or mail with the message " come to IM fast !!! " So...

Because from experience most people have had the "IM stalker/pervert in- your- monitor-face requests"

Im male, and I also do not like to get IM's from strangers.
Emails first.. then I can decide if it is someone I want to chat with or not.

I find that many people only use the IM's because there is not much of a record of what crap is said.
If someone cant take the time to email, or afraid to email because of content....... I have no use for them!

Is a shame that many abuse what options we are given.

I think this is why the mods are unable to do anything, there is no record, person i have problem with has never mailed only IM so no proof at all

But Morgan even if there were mail .. its just irritating .. though it saves you the same trouble all over again on IM ..

Good question, Omans02. Personally, I view this as a job, or at least a project... I am NOT here to kill time, I do have real life which is quite fun, fulfilled and busy. Therefore, I really, truly do NOT have time in my life for IM conversations like this....

If it had been an email, I would have just deleted it, but IM's do take time and take my mind off of whatever I was doing, and you bet I'm NOT happy when they're like this. But I have had a couple of interesting conversations which were first initiated by IM, so I guess you never really know...

Well, i'm direct and square, to hell with that bureaucratic approach formula, i will prefer to approach a lady directly to get to know if she is interested to wanna chat rather that playing the "waiting and hoping to have a chat game"

Think the problem is more about when the person won't take no for an answer and then become nasty and persistant .

I just switch my IM off now, I didn't have one decent guy start a conversation. They were all into asking me for "CYBER" straight away.

Frankly I just don't understand how males or females can get off on a bunch of words. This really does make me laugh.
