Birth Control?

Ok, so this seems weird to me... I get asked the random question about what method of birth control I use, and I am a condom girl, I wont take pills, and I usually get a reaction from guys like "huh?? why wont you take the pill" and I am not sexually active, and haven't been with anyone since my husband and I split ( 8 months or so without sex for me ) but, do guys seriously count on girls being on the pill? And what about STDs or whatever? I find it odd condoms seem to be a thing of the past or something. So as a woman - Do you make a guy wear a condom, even for the STD factor? And for a guy - Do you make sure you protect yourself?

I had a hysterectomy at 34 years old so pregnancy is not even a consideration... I still insist on a condom unless I'm in a serious long term relationship and we have both been tested.

Everyone should wear condoms! If you saw as much herpes and HPV as we see at our office each week it would scare you into celebacy.handshake

I can't do birth control as it makes me all kinds a crazy!

I try to make a habit of using condoms, but have had occassional slip ups in judgement. On the occassion that I am irresponsible I make an apointment with my gyno ASAP.

I usually get the lecture and the slap on the hand, but I always get a free box of condoms! applause

Don't you hate that question? Condoms are my preference too. The pill does not protect you from STD's. Plus the pill and other forms of BC (IUD, etc) can come with major health risks. Condoms are cheaper and do not require office visits or prescriptions and unless you are allergic to latex come with no major risks to your health. I also think that condoms have minimal room for user error.

I disagree. I've been taking one condom everyday for years, and all these girls get pregnant and my poop comes out in little bags......

I'm with you, I'm single for the first time after 13 years with my wife and I'm a bit (actually alot) scared of what I may be getting into when I meet a woman.

One statistic is that 1 out of 4 18 to 35 year olds have an STD, I don't plan on adding to those stats.
