Trish has been at the cancer clinic all day again..
I have just spoken to her..
She says they didn't even bother to give her chemo after they did more CT scans..
They have given her
2 days.. to 2 weeks
max.
They are coming to put a syringe driver in tomorrow morning.. (so they can administer her morphine when she can no longer swallow)
From a 7cm mass in her liver in October.. (When we were in Vegas) it's now almost the size of her liver itself.. (thats BIG!)
It's in her Lymph nodes.. and her bones now too. Also they found today some
big blood clot going into her liver.. which they can't do anything about..
They say there isn't anything more they can do other than to try and make her comfortable.
I'm completely stunned.. and so is she.. and her husband Jules.. and her mum.. and her sisters. and and and...
her pastor just left..
A few days ago.. I helped her (ARRGH!!!) choose her casket.. and what she wanted to wear IN it.. and the things she wanted to put in it with her.
She wanted to make boxes of her things for her friends and family.. But her husband was off work for a week (with a damaged back)... and she didn't want to do the boxes in front of him and upset him more..
Now it seems she may not even get the chance.
Her sister Mary is going to try and help her tomorrow.
I told her I would call work now .. and fly back to the USA tomorrow.. But she doesn't want me too.
Everyone around her is devastated.. but she is TRYING to keep laughing and crack jokes.. (Thats my girl!)
Sooo.. we
tried to make rubbishy jokes.. and
tried to laugh..
Everywhere we sleep together.. (when we travel) in hotels etc.. we always talk and mess about so much at bedtime we don't get to sleep
much.. So we play Sleeping Lions...
You have to pretend to be asleep.. and the one that can do it (falls asleep) the most.. wins..
I
always win..
She said. 'HA!...
at last!.. I FINALLY get to win.. Permanently!'
Please don't feel you have to reply.. I dunno what anyone could say really.
She's that
once in a lifetime kind of friend.
