1968 when I was 14 I got everybody rounded up to do a walkout at our school cos I was so pi**ed off at being left outside in the cold while they had their union go slow meetings - they didnt think it very cool but it sort of set a lifetime precedent for me

I knew it, I'm still not cool.

It's really hard to be cool when your Dad is a Baptist preacher, your Mom is an English teacher in the school you go to, and you live in a real small town where everybody knows everybody, and you don't fit in unless you were born there. I had a few good friends though, that was enough for me. I developed a great sense of not caring if people liked me, still don't, serves me well at times, at times not.

I was in my Sophomore Year, (1969), in a Seventh Day Adventist High School While Playing Rock and Roll AND getting paid VERY WELL to do it, (While maintaining a "B+ Grade Point Average). I was easily a Non-Conformist, (Playing that EVIL Music lol). Was I Cool? I Was Mother F*#king COOL!
