do you have any hobbies? or interests?? do you like to do volunteer work?? try joining a group of some kind that you have an interest in, at least that way you might meet someone with similar interests.

For women, grocery store. "Attached" men seldom do the family shopping. Look in the frozen section, near the TV dinners or the beer aisle.sigh

For men, grocery store. Pass up the ones on the baby needs aisle.

I agree with the night classes or volunter group type of atmosphere being the best and church.Unfortunatley that's why these sites have become popular,as is often said"where do you meet someone"I must add on my own experiences, but you can't be shy.Grocery store, hardware store, golf or sportsman store or store dept.Go where they go.Personally if handled right,I see nothing wrong with(after small talk) asking a man out.Even a salesman, the plumber or carpet man who comes to your home. Some will disagree with me but as I said there is a proper way and I have done it,sucessfully in the past.Volunteering is great because you meet someone like you who has compassion.Jmo

Do you mean 'meet' as in an arranged meetup, or 'meet' as in just run into someone (that you've never met before) and hit it off?

I would recommend daylight hours for a first arranged meet. Do something other than arrange to meet for coffee or lunch, like bowling. That way if the conversation doesn't happen naturally, then you can both just enjoy it anyway.

For other... Gyms or clubs (photography, golf, etc.). Would forget trying to meet someone in a bar of pub, alcohol fuelled rose tinted glasses and all that.

To meet a lot of doctors, go lay in the street! They will get to know you real well and personally. Then when you can't pay the bill, you meet a bunch of rich lawyers. Then there is all the bill collectors knocking on your door often. Then you go see debt consolidators and bankrupcy lawyers, judges, police office if you tell the judge what you think. then there are all the other nice people in the jail with you. more lawyers, more judges, gaurds. Then you go to a half way house to get you back on your feet. New people you will meet pushing carts at Wal-mart to make a living again. Then if you get lonesome......you can always shoplift and meet new friends again.

Glad to help!grin

Where ever you are and where there are people. The key is to be able to engage another person in conversation at will. You need ploys to open for any situation. You need to learn to ask open end questions and closed end questions. You need to inguire about them and then let them tell it. Learn to be a great talker by drawing talk from others and listening.
