The forums & this site are a tool.
If you pick up a hammer & proceed to remove a splinter with it... well, you'll end up with something even worse than a splinter in the long run.
Point is this:
If you want a certain result, you have to be willing to use the tools provided to help you obtain your goal. Just because someone else is trying to do things differently, does not mean it should interfere with your behavior towards your goal.
...oh & then there's the part where patience is a virtue.
Seldom do people find "the one" in less than a few months online. Many have been looking for a year or more. It's no different than going to that local grocery store, bar(minus most of the drinking), or gas station to meet people... unless you make it different. Your chances of meeting someone from your area are about the same, & across state lines... greatly improved.
Just proceed with a great attitude & it will serve to cast a bright light on your presence.
A great many of us have dated people from CS & some have even been married(Peaches & Ray come to mind).
