So who's for Pink Floyd?

Scrolled through this forum and saw the Beatles fans, Scorps and a couple others. Just wondering if there are any Floyd fans out there. I was asked to join a Pink Floyd Tribute Band this last week (I play guitar). I am curious to know how popular PF is outside of my area.

Secondly, if you come to this thread - you may as well mention you're fav album and song. Here's mine: After wearing out 2 copies of "Dark Side of the Moon" they had to go release "Wish You Were Here" so I could wear out some of them. Looking back all these years I think WYWH has lasted as my fav over DSOM and the later albums. As for songs, I usually play "Wish You Were Here" and "Comfortably Numb" live so they are obviously my favs.

Thirdly, Waters or Gilmour? I can't answer publicly - there is a big feud within my family over this one - ha!

Well, I'm a Pink Floyd fan!! They're one of the greatest bands ever!! grin

My personal favourite is the Final Cut album, its lyrics are just fabulous!! The only thing, I don't listen to it when I'm feeling down!! sigh

Regarding Waters or Gilmour, all I can say is that I'm sorry that David left the band!!

I saw Roger Waters last summer in Toronto, it was one of the best live shows I have ever seen, and I have seen many of them over the years.

I'm a big Pink Floyd fan but their last few albums don't do much for me.

Worn out a few cassettes and even one LP over the years but I have several for back up. laugh

Can't say I have a favorite album because each album is great to listen to depending on my mood. Have to admit I have plated Dark Side of the Monn more than the rest.

hell yeah! the floyd is my band!

favorite album would have to be 'dark side of the moon', 'piper at the gates of dawn', 'wish you were here' and cliche'd as it may sound 'the wall'

i can't choose a favorite song so don't even ask!

man, that's a difficult choice to make, i also love syd. can i say all three?

My first name happens to be Floyd, and there are some parts of me that are sort of pinkish I guess, so I will appreciate the band by default.

I grew up with the music of Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin, Deep Purple and the rest.
Animals, Wish You Were Here, Dark Side of the Moon, The Wall.
Now that is an impressive line up of Albums.
The Machine is Awesome, Another Brick in the Wall, Money!
And a bunch more. I like them all, I guess!peace

Well I haven't taken the gig yet. Actually I was offered to play in a Tom Petty Tribute Band as well. Tribute Bands are the rage right now. You can rake in more coin per gig than a regular cover band. The problem is I'm a songwriter myself and all I really want to play is original material. Don't get me wrong - I love Pink Floyd and a PF tribute band would be killer but I try to keep my cover tunes to "just a sprinkling." But you never know when I might get "A Momentary Lapse of Reason" and get my Gilmour on...
