Did you used to dance round your handbag to BoneyM and the Saturday Night Fever stuff or maybe it was just me

Every weekend was a battle between my friends and I... they were all disco queens and I was a rocker... since it was 4 to 1 a lot more time was spent dancing around handbags, then headbanging and air guitars!rolling on the floor laughing

At least you did move on Morgan. I think I'm still mainly stuck in the electronic age of the '80s even though it's 2008 rolling on the floor laughing

Punk was cool I used to like toyah Wilcox and The Stranglers thumbs up I could never get into the Sex Pistols thoughrolling on the floor laughing

Oh yeah, I tried that headbanging too when I used to go down the hells angel and rocker pubslaugh That was a bigger laugh than the disco nites rolling on the floor laughing We used to all get so close together in a scrum head banger and we nearly ended up all banging heads together rolling on the floor laughing Some of them used to wear those big smelly coats that the rockers wore, cant remember their name now dunno

whatEVER
rolling eyes

i was a disco queen at 54
and seedier placesblushing
when punk hit NYC (my home) in late 77
i was all over it

all my kids have been exposed to ALL music
blues is the original punk-
and even the beginnings of hiphop were punk
because they were both a taking back of music
by 'regular people'-meaning not especially skilled
but creating a platform of expression-
which is awesome

i was a union musician for 20 yrs
its all been fun
music is like #2 in my life i think
as far as what i need and appreciate as a foundation of healthy life
for myself...

this may be the farthest a thread has ever strayed from the op-
good job gals

thumbs up

i read some of whats posted in forums
and so much of it is so ridiculous, childish
and UNINVITING to new members...
those who post the stuff like "come out and show your face"
*whaaa??* man-what can one say about that?

good grief its a forum all we CAN do is share opinions!
do people act like this in real life?
like if someone doesnt agree w/ them they play victim
or attack them or avoid them?
no wonder so many people are online
theyve run out of people in their neighborhood..?

to name call '***********s'? -any of the names supposed 'groups' are given...?
arent these people in fact trying by that method
to form a group to stand up to the '**********s'? ( 'group')
as in "us, them and the spectators" ? awful mentality
at a dating site...honestly-so many members here, thousands- look at forums, look at our profile and our recent posts on it-to see maybe what we are like... and so many dont join forum
because of this stuff.

its just a backhanded way to portray oneself as
better than 'them' when in fact its pretty much exactly
what youre complaining about.
but its 'different' cuz youre doin it? or youre justified?
maybe cus 'they started it' ? 2 wrongs dont make a right.
and, yeah-its attracting singles in here in droves.

im stating my opinion
sometimes ya know, if we become offended
its a problem w/in our own ego.

personally i try not to let these people/groups
that are strangers
actually offend me
uhhhhduh?

no offense to anyone-it just gets tiresome
and drives potential members away-
unless they are the type that loves chaos-
then theyll run right in-like we need any more of thooose!!

Off topic i know, but i remeber listening to
John Peel one evening when he mentioned
he had been to see Patti Smith and her
nightmarish crew (his words not mine).
Anyway, he said the backing group
were a band called The Stranglers and he
had a demo disc of theirs. Saying, i think
i should play it for you, its called Get a Grip
Yourself.
He added, i think we will be hearing more from
this band.

How right he was.

John Peel

Sorry that went before I added my stuff... anyway the night before you posted this thread, this situation took place on the forum, I know it's not the first time or the last, but I assumed that what had gone on had prompted you to post the thread you did...

He certainly knew a band when he heard one.I remember listening to him a lot for all the sessions that he had on there.

I couldn't get into the "fall" who he was so besotted with.

The best DJ i ever heard.
