Honey, I wouldn't exactly know. I've never been shy a day in my life. I think I felt, as a kid, that I got so much attention because of the backbrace and the body cast, that I had to stand up to it and just get past it, so I did at a young age.

It has served me well. Just play the part until you feel it. hug

I used to be real shy. I found that the more well read I became and could converse on a wide range of topics the more people wanted to talk to me-shyness cured!comfort

You have to just get out there and do the things you don't like in oreder to become shy...Believe it or not I used to be painfully shy...didn't even like to go shopping by myself in case somebody looked at me...rolling eyes It wasn't until I started getting jobs etc that challenged my shyness that I finally overcame it...I was a prison guard at 19...no room for shyness there and in my next job I had to do alot of public speaking...Not to mention as my self-confidence grew...my shyness disappeared little by little!!!!!!!!

Now I can get up in front of a whole room of people I don't know...Not have a speach prepared and still give a damned good speach just off the top of my head!!!!!!!

It's all about challenging yourself and recognizing your own abilities as a person!!!!!!!!!

hehe...i had a list and i accidently deleted it...rolling on the floor laughing

in highschool i was extremely shy and quiet and it didnt really get any better for a long time.
Cuz I knew i had a problem with it and I couldnt stand it and was a tad jealous of my friends who werent.
My first thing was I started making sure I always made eye contact, couldnt keep it for long, i wanted to look down...but each time i got better, now i maintain it very well. I put myself in uncomfortable situations where I had to talk and be upfront with ppl. I didnt notice a big diff until i started college bck in 2003...then i didnt really have an option, i was in new territory...very strange...by the time i was finished with school, I had held several offices and was nominated to speak infront of the Iowa Gov., oh man that was a doozy...cuss, i was so scared..i busted out laughing infront of 300 ppl, and ended up talking for 5 min...since then my shyiness has kinda despeared. Now I am usually the first to speak or make conversation with strangers and friends...yeh i talk too much...rolling on the floor laughing

Wow, me too. I used to be so shy that I hid in the bathroom during recess because I was afraid the other kids wouldn't want to play with me... sigh
