Marriage contracts seem to be used more often in second marriages than in first, especially when there are children. That may be because people are more realistic the second time around, and also because they often have accumulated more wealth than they had the first time and are more anxious to protect it.

The advantage of an agreement is the certainty it gives about a couple’s rights and obligations, particularly concerning property and separation.

Do you believe that marrige contract may help the two of you RESPECT each other's RIGHTS so you avoid agruments that lead to trouble?

What is your thoughts on that one?

Please, before you answer leave all emotions aside ... think rational. All right guys?

conversing cheers

Being serious...no I wouldn't want one...It's too cold sounding and not the way I want to start out my life if I ever choose to get married...Things don't mean enough to me to want or need to protect them...I can always start over...It's the person and the marriage that counts and I wouldn't want to begin it by dealing with it ending before things even begin!!!!!!!!!

If everyone was as they should be.....this question would never be raised. The answer is not to have or not to have...but to be or not to be. Now that is the question to be asked.

That's exactly why I do ask this question (on marrige contracts)...it seems like a majority of people being in Love have those thoughts.

Unfortunately the worst part of divorce is ... woman's rights gives women more freedom to leave their husbands literary naked ... When it comes to divorce. So by having this contract there is a chance for a men to have at least their socks left in their ownership. Since Marrige contracts basicaly all about financial problems.

To be or not to be the right kind of persons.

This is the question that should be examined!

If we were all the right kind of persons.....CS would be empty.

Now we have a goal if we choose it.professor

Although I have never been married, my common-law partner of the time did not love me and I felt that. There was a lump in my throat every day.

There was never a problem with finances, that came after the split!!!

I did say all.

The problem is sorting out the good ones from the bad ones. There is no trust because so many are self consumed and ungiving. They do that which is best for them. We All need to struggle to be that which is desired inward and not so much on the vain outward. Many do not know that which they have inside is undesirable and ugly. I don't refer to the naughtiness use to be among the group but the lack of natural affections and giving. Many think they have these but with watching it is clear all things done are for selfish motives. Even the rare one who does things without a self serving motive is though to have motive that are bad. If we where all honorable, given to natural affections........we each would have a mate and this forum would be void.

Why do men and women attack each other at any time. Do you hate that which you desire? Foolishness! To speak well of someone other than LOOKS is a rare thing. If you do so the you are some kind of pervert. If we put as much effort into speaking well of each other that tearing each other apart......I wonder what would happen.

I often would like to brag on someone for the way they are without self motives. But if I did...then all kind of crap takes place. People love to tear down and destroy. We have many good people here but they are not getting together for foolish reasons. If we were past that crap we would find someone easy.

I'm done!

I agree...it also seems much easier to make exscuses about why we shouldn't be together then to see the good things about why we should....hug teddy bear hug
