Well the oil compannies are not stupid, that's why we have market traded energy. That gallon of gas could come from anywhere, making it immpossible to boycotte the origin of the product. The biggest culprit here is the Iraq war and greedy oil whole salers like the Bush family. The majority of crude oil in the US comes from Canada, not the middle East.

It's only just over 30%, the remainder comes from elsewhere, and that silver car was an Audi and it wasn't plated.wink

there are a few solutions but if you MUST use petrol/gas then choose the statons wisely. boycott a particular brand (in the uk some of us including myself have boycotted bp stations). that way, you get your petro/gas as usual but still make a statement and hurt a particular company. if that particular company is being hit hard then they will either be forced to lower their prices in order to compete or lobby the government to lower the taxes (or both). it's obvious that the government aren't prepared to listen to the general public but when a huge oil company talks then they WILL listen. of course, this will only work with the co-operation of drivers throughout the country. some people have just got so much money that they couldn't give a crap where they fill - nor about those who are struggling to make ends meet because of the extortionate prices. remember too that high petrol/gas prices is having a huge knock on effect on all the other retail outlets too. the average shopping bill in the uk has risen by around £15 ($30) per week. something must be done - and SOON!

$3.59 a gallon, for the past week, in OK, US. I bet it's $3.75 a gallon, by Memorial Day.
