How many out there have teenagers ??? And how many of you felt like throttling them cause they tend to drive you nuts sometimes ???

I have a 15 yr old daughter that thinks she's 18 , and decided that since she's become one that she shouldn't have to do any more chores and have a curfew , and then wants to constantly spend the night away so she can have FUN with her friends . It's too bad that we can't take their voice boxes out sometimes lol .

My 2 eldest are both in their teens. The eldest can be a nightmare at times & thinks it's ok to come up withexcuses for pretty much anything. The other one is so laid back & placid.

Two sons living with me. 18 and 21. They went through their phases and now are both nice young men. Both work hard and are 'slowly' achieving their goals.thumbs up

Someone posted a thread about throttling their cat. One peice of advice was to shoot it, have you tried that?.

Seriously the child is breaking from the nest and will soon begin their own life. There are points in a childs life when they are ready to change, and those are times to help them on their way. It is somewhat simular to toilet training, if you catch the right point it is a much easier transition betwine stages. I realy can not say or know the proper responce for your child but would approach the situation from the perspective of treating them as an adult and helping them grow into that situation.

Let her know that at sixteen the allowance ends and she will get a job, the chores should continue untill she has a job. The law in most places has a curfew that makes you responcible for her indiference (good luck).

Dennis ( I wish you luck with making anything that I have said work, and keep in mind that the only responsibility to your children is to give them the opportunity to survive , hopefully that is started at a younger age than fifteen).

I have 16 year old twins...my son...I have never really had a need to want to throttle him because he's pretty laid back and has a good head on his shoulders...My daughter on the other hand...is another story.....I have wanted to commit murder on more than one occasion and yes voice box removal sounds like a good alternative!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know nothing...she knows everything and I have never learned a thing in my 40 years on earth!!!!!!!!

There are no answers to raising teenagers, you tough it out, do the best you can which will never be good enough, and keep the hope alive that they do grow up eventually.

I understand the saying now, grandchildren are your reward for not killing your kids!

That's wonderful. You know people talk about hearing themselves say things to their kids that their parents said to them. IT doesn't bother me at all. My mom was a great mother. I'm proud to walk in her footsteps.

Even though Em is almost 13, I've been thinking about maybe having another one while I still can, if I can. And then it hits me that my mom won't be there this time. And that's so hard for me and really a weird thought to me to think of having a child and my mom not being a part of it's life. It would miss so much. It makes me sad.

Much better, thanks. Most of the soreness is gone and I'm hoping the nerve pain will be back to normal in another day or two. Getting better every day! Thank you for asking. hug

My youngest brother had a hard time in his teens, there was a lot of pain for everyone in the family. He has since grown up to be a good person. I am sure your child will do the same.
