ok, per part 1 I ended the date early and told her it just wouldn't work.

now I have a crazy STALKER! She just made another suprise visit only this time she was dressed only in a coat. I answered the door to see her holding the coat open and asking to come in. she calls as many as 15 times a day. and keeps insisting she and I could be great together.

so now what do I do. this is a first for me.frustrated

That is unless you like rabbit stew. Actually it's pretty good if you cook it long enough.

The police will laugh at you. Just do not answer her calls and explain that she needs to back off. If she does not then you will need to explain if she does not that you will get a restraining order. I assure you this will be a much larger problem if the police get involved, first they do not view this as a problem (if it were the other way around, that's a different story) and second convincing a judge that you are in fear of your safety from a woman in another problem all together. You might speak to an officer and see if he will talk to her, maybe record the conversations where you are telling her to stop harassing you. that might help prove enough for a restraining order. other than that avoid her like the plague

Can't file a restraining order unless you prove that you have reason to believe that she is threatening your life.

"I love you phone calls" and visits to your door don't qualify...

Totally opposite in Australia.......phone calls and being on the front door would be more than enough.

Showing up on the doorstep may qualify as tresspassing, but that usually has to be posted.

Can't cotrol phone calls.

A restraining order is very tricky to get in the states....

Midnight2005 is right, depending on your state it could be illegal to tape conversations without someone's permission. A quick call to an attorney, perhaps two or three to get a second/third opinion, should let you know. (No, I don't know this from personal experience, have just seen a lot of court tv).

Keep all phone records that show her number, and contact the phone company, let them know you've told an individual to stop calling. I believe there is a code you can punch after a harassing call and the phone company will keep a record. This you can take to the police if necessary, especially if the calls are at unreasonable times of day.

Bamabulldog08, you're probably already doing this, but be sure to give her a consistent message, polite but curt.

Good luck!

Hi there,
Perhaps the next time she arrives at your door you should be dressed in women’s underwear, maybe then she would get the idea that you’re not interested. Could be expensive though!
On a serious note I had a stalker for a very long time an ex boyfriend who refused to give me up. He even staged his own funeral in a poor attempt to see how much I still cared for him. Luckily we have some very tough laws in the UK to deal with stalking nowadays, the police finally dealt with him.
The only true advice I can give is never feel sorry for the culprit, try your very best not to pander to there behaviour, stay firm with them and give them no hope at all that there will be any form of relationship, not even friendship.
Good luck
Kind regards Esperella x x x
