I have heard tomato juice is the bath of choice if self or animals are sprayed so you could sluice the area down perhaps..dunno

Failing that, Vicks under the nostrils helps to make the nose less sensitive.

A skunk got under my house and sprayed last Friday morning! My whole house smells like freakin skunk! Does anyone know it there is anything that can help with getting rid of the odor! I have tried candles, lysol, other room sprays and deoderizors, and I have took off some of the under pinning to my house to try to air it out! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Carla,

As a dog owner and groomer, I know that bathing a dog with a mixture of 1/4 cup soda, 1 qt hydrogen peroxide, 1 tsp Dawn dish liquid, and a tsp of vanilla extract is an effective method of getting the odor off your dog. The Kansan assures me that holding a dog in your arms and passing it back and forth over a smoky fire works, too. (Haven't had to test his theory yet! He says the smoke molecules bind to the skunk odor.)

I know that your problem doesn't originate with a dog, but I'm thinking that spraying the "bath solution" under the house and/or piping smoke under your house could help.

If you try either (or both!), I'd be interested in knowing the results, so please drop me a line! (We live in the middle of the woods, and skunks are plentiful here, and it wouldn't surprise me if we don't have this problem sometime.)

Best of luck in fumigating!
