then why the crackdown?Use this to maybe set an example and quit yourself.I tried one cig at 12 and never smoked again.I would talk to your daughter and tell her why you don't want her to follow in your smoking footsteps.

I have done that and yes you are right as the adult is up to me to set the example

How easy it is once grown up for us to forget the joy of learning or sneaking mums smokes or dads beer......

It was a about trying act cool like grown ups....

Always be totaly upfront with kids and understanding. The more strict you are the more determined they will be, to try something grown up.

Warn her of the dangers and make sure she understands what smoking can do to her long term. Ask at a hospital to see a smokers and non smokers removed lungs that they always have for training purposes, I'm sure this will do the trick without saying a word.

When I wasn't home.. every time the phone rang they were scared to answer it.

Every time they arrived home.. they would come over the hill.. and my dad would say.. 'Well the house is still standing.. that's a good sign'

I drove them around the twist.

And to think my dad always called me his Cherub...

One Sunday my neighbour and i drank a 2 litre bottle of sherry ! and we were both not good. My daughter was 5 yrs at the time and later that week i went to open night at her school. I nearly died on ther spot when her teacher asked me if i was feeling better, as my daughter had told him that Auntie Olive and Mummy had been sick and Mummy had her head down the toilet all afternoon. Bless her !
