Does anybody ever get suspicious emails from people on this site? I am new here and I have received a couple of emails from women out of the blue, telling me all about themselves and trying to get me to respond. There is alot of mis-spelled words and some of what theyre saying doesn't make sense. Just seems a little fishy.

Typically a dead giveaway is an immediate desire to contact through another email address (Yahoo in particular). Some COULD be legit, but unlikely. When all else fails, send lots of money via credit card. I've got eleven wives-to-be out there...somewhere...smoking

This is a dating website if I'm not mistaken....dunno confused although it is expected for men to make the first move, I suppose it's not so unusual.

Yes definately, I have gotten about one a week for the first 6 weeks or so. They are scammers. Easy to see through them. Had a bit of fun winding them up though.

Try googling their user name and you will see it turn up on loads of dating sites throughout the world with same name and photos but different addresses from USA to Russia.

i had some fun with a scammer a couple of weeks back. a HUGE giveaway is that they usually give u their e-mail addy straight away and wait for you to contact them. i googled the e-mail of this would be scammer and there it was confirmed on a scammer site. i had a fun time with her (actually, i found out it was a GUY called ahmed mussawi in ghana). if anyone wants a full transcript of the e-mail convo then they're welcome. it's quite lengthy but sooooooooo funny lol. yay

Yes, and you can spot a scammer in several ways--first they they say they love everything about you but when you check, they've never looked at your profile. The second way is the English, or lack of it. Besides misspelled words, another major red flag is the use of tenses or words that just don't make sense. Get use to that age old way to solve that problem--the DELETE button! applause
